Samseongjungang izakaya: sashimi for 3 and corkage rules at Yoran
In short
Yoran (요란) is a private-room izakaya (Japanese-style pub) on the ground floor of the Sechang Building at Samseongjungang Station Exit 1 in Gangnam, Seoul. Three of us shared Yoran's seasonal sashimi platter for 3 (₩75,000) with cold beer, and the thick-cut fish had a gentle sweetness with no fishy taste. Yoran is a solid pick for sashimi near Samseongjungang Station, as long as you know that rooms require ordering sake or premium soju and corkage is ₩30,000 per bottle.

I visited Yoran (요란), a seafood spot near Samseongjungang Station that's gotten a reputation for fresh, thick-cut assorted sashimi and cold beer-! There's parking behind the building, and they said about two spots are usually free in the evening. Just call the restaurant to ask~

Where is Yoran, and how close is it to Samseongjungang Station?

Yoran is just a short walk in from Exit 1 of Line 9's Samseongjungang Station, so it's really easy to get to!

Just head inside the Sechang Building and you'll find it right away! It felt perfect for a quiet, cozy drink with friends or coworkers after work. Yoran is a private-room izakaya where you can enjoy authentic Japanese dishes, today's recommended menu and seasonal snacks.

Yoran's atmosphere and seating: is it good for drinking alone?
The inside of Yoran is cozy overall, so it was lovely for chatting quietly with friends. They say you can comfortably drink solo at the bar seats too!!

The tables are nicely spaced out, so I'd totally recommend it for a small after-work company dinner or a get-together with friends. There are private room seats too~ On Saturdays, holidays and Korean public holidays, it runs by reservation only. There's also a 20-seat group room for company dinners~!

Yoran private room rules and corkage fee
To use a room at Yoran, you must order either sake or premium soju! Outside food isn't allowed, so please keep that in mind (sob). Corkage is ₩30,000 per bottle, just tell them when you order~

What comes in Yoran's seasonal sashimi platter for 3?

The complimentary starters were green peas and shrimp chips~! The peas were so tasty haha. Before the sashimi arrived, we clinked our cold beers first-! It felt like the whole day's tiredness melted away haha

And finally the main dish, the seasonal sashimi platter for 3!! Doesn't it look amazing...? They said it's filled with a variety of the freshest seasonal fish of the day, and the presentation made me happy just looking at it!

The fish was sliced thick all around, so you really get that chewy, springy texture! There was no fishy taste at all, just a subtle sweetness, so you can tell they keep it really fresh haha. A little wasabi, dipped in soy sauce... heaven. The platter for 3 was generous too, so we ate our fill with nothing lacking!
When is Yoran a good pick?
The seafood and sashimi were so fresh, and the atmosphere was calm and clean, so it was a great place for a happy drink with people close to you! If you're looking for a good spot near Samseongjungang Station, in Samseong-dong, an izakaya in Samseong-dong, or seafood snacks, I highly recommend Yoran!!
