I visit KuuKuu pretty often, but this was my first time at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch. Even though I went for weekday lunch, I was surprised by how varied the food lineup was — it had a different charm from a regular KuuKuu, and I left really satisfied. What made it extra special was that you get a self-grill zone alongside the sushi, haha^^

A satisfying weekday lunch even for a Bupyeong sushi spot

Spacious interior occupying the entire 9th floor

If you're looking for a Bupyeong sushi spot, KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is a must-visit. It uses the entire 9th floor of the building, so the space felt really spacious and comfortable.

There were plenty of tables plus separate room spaces, so it looked great for family meals, company dinners, or any kind of gathering. Even for a weekday lunch visit, the sheer number of dishes exceeded my expectations.

So many sushi and roll varieties

The biggest strength of KuuKuu is still the variety of sushi. The gunkan corner had flying fish roe, tako wasabi, crab salad, monkfish foie gras, Uljin red wasabi, and yukhoe tangtangi (seasoned raw beef tartare) gunkan.

The roll corner had aged kimchi and yukhoe rolls, crunch rolls, futomaki, spicy grilled woo samgyeop (thin beef belly) rolls, Uljin red snow crab tofu pockets, teriyaki beef rolls, and more — the variety was really something.

The fresh zone had bluefin tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, boiled shrimp, whelk with wasabi, spicy seasoned shrimp, and even tuna tataki with ponzu.

The sushi itself included lobster, raw shrimp, flounder, salmon, butterfish, live-fish aged kimchi, freshwater eel, plus beef and bacon sushi, beef sashimi, Gwangyang sirloin, and smoked duck sushi — my plate filled up fast even taking just one of each.

It was a lineup that really lives up to being a Bupyeong sushi hotspot — very satisfying.

Generous salads and warm dishes too

There was really so much more to eat besides sushi.

Display case with soy sauce-marinated shrimp and crab

There was soy sauce-marinated shrimp and crab, yuzu octopus salad, and mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) — seafood lovers would be very happy here.

The salad zone had Caesar salad, salmon salad, cheese tandoori salad, citrus prune salad, and more. The warm dishes were impressive too.

There was aged kimchi and oyster mushroom dakbokkeumtang (braised spicy chicken), cheese tomato monkfish steak, Uljin snow crab cream pasta, gambas, yaki udon, palbochae (mixed stir-fry), and mala xiang guo. On top of that, there were soups like shiitake samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), doganitang (ox knee cartilage soup), and Uljin snow crab soup — perfect hearty summer nourishment!

The self-grill zone unique to KuuKuu Gold

The space I was most looking forward to was the grill zone~

The display case had pork belly, pork neck, pork belly yakiniku, beef yakiniku, pork ribs, pork skin, and more. There was seafood too, like scallops, shrimp, and baby octopus.

I heard that dinner and weekend visits also get grilled octopus, LA galbi, and freshwater eel, so I'd love to come back at that time next visit.

It was fun grabbing whatever ingredients I wanted and grilling them myself, and the grill's heat was strong enough that everything cooked quickly, which was convenient.

Being able to enjoy barbecue alongside sushi was really a distinctive charm.

From noodles to dessert, a complete lineup

The pizza and BBQ corner had plenty of variety too, and there was even a space for making your own tacos.

There was tofu lasagna, lamb ribs, grilled oysters, and whole smoked salmon, so there was plenty of fun in picking and choosing. Udon, pho, cold soba, jjajangmyeon, and jjamppong were made fresh to order, so they tasted great.

There were also plenty of drinks — soda, coffee, tea, juice, and even sikhye (sweet rice punch).

Cakes and fruit at the dessert corner

Dessert was even more satisfying.

There was fresh cream cake and chocolate cake, choco hwangchi cheese crepes, various tarts and roll cakes, and even fruit like watermelon, pineapple, mango, and kiwi.

There was ice cream, ball-shaped ice cream, soft serve, bingsu (shaved ice), slushies, waffles, and cookies too, making for a really satisfying finish to the meal.

A good place to visit with kids

There's a kids' café and infant tableware available for families visiting with children, so it looked like a great option for a family meal out.

How's parking at the Bupyeong branch?

Parking is available from basement level 1 to 3. When I visited, it was full, but cars got in right as spots opened up. If it's full, there are public parking lots nearby that would make visiting easy too. After paying, tell staff your plate number to get 90 minutes registered.

Overall verdict

KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch had such a varied food lineup even for a weekday lunch that I left very satisfied. Sushi, the grill zone, various warm dishes, and dessert were all so diverse, hahaha. Being able to enjoy self-grilled barbecue alongside sushi was a real point of difference from a regular KuuKuu! Next time, I'd love to visit during dinner hours to try the weekend and dinner-exclusive menu items too^^
