Why did I choose a cleansing balm when blackheads and pores were bothering me?

I do not have particularly trouble-prone skin, but as time went by, I found visible blackheads and pores increasingly bothersome. Rather than covering them up, I wanted to start by paying attention to the cleansing step, so I looked for a cleansing product.

What is the texture of HEEDA Charcoal Cleansing Balm like?

When I opened the product, I was struck by the fact that the balm itself was black, fitting for a formula with charcoal in it. It scooped out smoothly with the spatula and felt a little softer than sherbet-textured cleansing balms.

When I rubbed it between my hands, it quickly turned oil-like from my body heat. It was described as containing 13 naturally derived ingredients, including plum blossom, peony, rice bran, green tea, and jojoba.

How did it remove waterproof mascara?

I scooped out an appropriate amount with the included spatula and thoroughly massaged it over my face to melt away my makeup. I also used it around the eyes where I had applied waterproof mascara, and when a little got into my eyes during use, I did not particularly feel any stinging.

Before emulsifying it with water and rinsing, I wiped away the melted cleansing balm with a cotton pad to check how well it had cleansed. The mascara I used wiped away without flaking.

How did it feel after cleansing?

To cleanse more thoroughly, I followed up with a mildly acidic cleansing foam as a second cleanse. The oiliness around my eyes was neatly removed, and I did not feel much tightness in my skin afterward, so I was satisfied with how it cleansed.
