Where is Morakmorak in Namyang-eup, and is there parking?
Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang (모락모락정육식당) Namyang Hwaseong City Hall Main Branch is on Yeokgoljungang-ro in Namyang-eup, near Hwaseong City Hall. There's plenty of parking right next to the restaurant, so it was easy to visit by car. It has a big reputation as a meat spot in Namyang, and after going myself I could see why so many people come.

Being near Hwaseong City Hall, it's easy to get to. The building is quite large, so you can spot it from far away, and I liked that even on weekends or in the evening you don't have to worry about parking.
Morakmorak's big-screen dining room and self-bar
The restaurant has high ceilings and generous spacing between tables, so it feels spacious and comfortable, and there's even a big screen on one side. The self-bar has vegetables and side dishes plus a make-your-own taco corner, and there's also unlimited hanwoo bone-broth ramen.

The first thing I noticed walking in was how wide open and comfortable it felt. The ceilings are high and the tables are spaced out, so you can eat without feeling cramped, and the big screen makes it a nice place to eat while watching sports or videos. It looked perfectly suited to family meals and group dinners alike.
One of Morakmorak's biggest strengths is the self-bar. Fresh vegetables and a variety of side dishes were neatly laid out, and you can take as much as you like, which I really appreciated. One corner is set up so you can make your own tacos, mixing meat and vegetables however you like, which was a fun twist.
Another special touch is the unlimited hanwoo (Korean beef) bone-broth ramen. You bring over the bone broth they simmer in-house, add Jin Ramen noodles and boil it yourself. It's a service you rarely see at BBQ restaurants, so it felt extra special.
How do you order meat at Morakmorak?
At Morakmorak you pick the meat you want from the refrigerated display and hand it to the owner, who pre-sears it and brings it to your table. This time I ordered raw pork belly and premium marbled pork neck.

As a proper butcher-shop restaurant, the range of meat was wide. Many different cuts were neatly arranged in the refrigerated display, and you could feel the freshness just from the color. Having it pre-seared and brought over was even more convenient.
How were the free yukhoe and fresh pork belly?
While you wait for the meat, a free yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) comes out first, and the quality was far better than you'd expect from a freebie. The pre-seared pork belly that followed was golden outside and juicy inside, so I could enjoy it to the end without feeling greasy.

Honestly, the free yukhoe came in a generous portion of fresh raw beef, enough to get the appetite going, and the nutty, tender texture left an impression.
I started with the pork belly. Since it arrives pre-seared, the grilling time was short and easy. The surface was golden and the inside held its juices. One bite and a rich, nutty flavor filled my mouth, and the more I chewed the juicier it got. It wasn't overly fatty, so I could enjoy it right to the end.
Premium marbled pork neck and doenjang stew on the grill
True to its name, the premium marbled pork neck had evenly spread marbling, with a good balance of chewy and tender. The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) served in the middle of the grill could be enjoyed alongside the meat.

The premium marbled pork neck was much juicier and more flavorful than regular pork neck, so you really taste the meat itself. The nutty aroma came alive the more I chewed, and I could tell why it's a popular item.
The doenjang stew, with its deep soybean-paste aroma and savory broth, went really well with the meat. Sipping the broth between bites cut the richness and made the meal even more satisfying.
What is the unlimited hanwoo bone-broth ramen like?
Morakmorak's hanwoo bone-broth ramen is an all-you-can-eat service where you boil Jin Ramen in their house-simmered bone broth. I cooked it at the end, after finishing the meat. It had a depth of flavor clearly different from ordinary ramen.

Lots of people recommend it, so I had high hopes, and the rich, savory broth was so appealing that my spoon kept going even though I was already full.
Verdict: is Morakmorak the Korean BBQ to pick in Namyang-eup?
Morakmorak near Hwaseong City Hall isn't just about tasty meat; it also has plenty of services and extras to enjoy. Fresh meat, a generous self-bar, free yukhoe and unlimited bone-broth ramen made for very high satisfaction.

The pre-searing service in particular made it easy to enjoy the meat, which felt like a big plus. If you're looking for a place for a family meal, a get-together with friends or a group dinner, I recommend Morakmorak. The meat quality, the variety of services and the comfortable space all satisfied me, so if you want a proper BBQ restaurant in Namyang, it's worth a visit.
