In short
Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch (함평육회 방이본점) is a hanwoo raw beef restaurant in the Bangi-dong Meokja food alley in Songpa, Seoul, serving beef slaughtered and sold the same day. Arriving right at Saturday opening time, the writer ordered the yukhoe-nakji-tangtangi (beef tartare with chopped live octopus) plus mungtigi (thick-cut raw beef) medium combo for ₩90,000 and a hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap for ₩15,000; the chewy mungtigi dipped in red chili sauce was the standout. Same-day-slaughtered, same-day-sold fresh hanwoo mungtigi 🥩

I've always loved yukhoe (raw beef) and raw beef in general, so while looking for good restaurants in Bangi-dong I found [Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch]! To get straight to the point... if you love mungtigi (raw beef cuts), I think you'll really love this place!! The raw beef was so chewy and the meaty flavor itself was amazing. And the red sauce that came with it... wow, that was totally my style~! (๑´ڡ`๑)

How far from Jamsil Station? Location and parking
[Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch] is located in the Bangi-dong restaurant alley! It's about a 10-minute walk from Exit 10 of Jamsil Station (Line 2, Line 8)!

Since it's fairly close to Jamsil Station, it could be a good spot if you're meeting up in Jamsil! My friend and I came over to the Bangi restaurant alley for dinner after browsing Lotte World Mall! If the weather's cool, a walk around Seokchon Lake after dinner would be nice too~~

There's no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, so if you're driving you'll need to use a nearby lot!

What's the atmosphere like?
Overall the space felt comfortable and casual, good for a relaxed meal!

It's not super quiet or formal — more like a place that's good for having drinks with friends over good food, haha. So it seemed like a good spot for friend gatherings or company dinners!

[Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch]'s pride, posted right on the wall! And from what I found while researching, when the weather's nice — outdoor tent season — they set up tables out front too! I love that outdoor-tent vibe so much, I want to come back on a nice day and eat outside~!>_<!

The restroom is inside the restaurant! It's split into men's/women's, but there's just one shared sink!

I visited right at Saturday's 17:00 opening time, but by the time we were eating the restaurant had filled up with customers and seats were nearly all taken~! Just a heads up that if there's a wait, there's a 2-hour (120-minute) table time limit~!
Menu & prices

Our order: yukhoe-nakji-tangtangi + mungtigi (medium) combo ₩90,000
We ordered the yukhoe-nakji-tangtangi + mungtigi (medium) combo for ₩90,000, and a hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap for ₩15,000! First the side dishes came out!

Gim (dried seaweed), sesame oil dipping sauce, red seasoning sauce, ssamjang, chili peppers, garlic, corn salad, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), and shredded chili all showed up — so many ways to combine them! And there was even seonjiguk (ox blood soup)! Haha, having a soup like that while drinking is the best~!
Yukhoe-nakji-tangtangi + mungtigi (medium)

Finally, our order arrived!! It looked so appetizing from the visual alone, haha. The nakji-tangtangi (chopped live octopus) was so fresh it was still moving!! And the raw beef mungtigi looked chewy just by looking at it. One bite in and wow... it's really so chewy!!
[Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch] sticks to a same-day-slaughtered, same-day-sold principle for its beef, and you could really tell the difference in freshness!! It wasn't tough at all — more of a springy, chewy texture that got more savory the more you chewed!! If you love raw beef, I think you'll really love this texture!
5 ways to eat mungtigi
There was a guide posted on how to best enjoy mungtigi!

① Taste it as is! Dip it first in the sesame oil sauce — savory and clean flavor! Trying it this way first to taste the raw beef itself was really nice!
② Dip it in the house-made red sauce! This was my favorite combo!!! Wow... that red sauce is really the key. It's slightly spicy with a deep umami flavor, so paired with the chewy mungtigi it was seriously delicious. Totally my style!!
③ With gim + baek-kimchi + shredded chili! This combo was tasty too. Especially since I'm a kimchi lover, eating it with baek-kimchi was so good, haha.

Placing mungtigi on gim and eating it together with baek-kimchi and shredded chili is so clean and delicious~!~!
④ Make it like sushi!

They give you a separate portion of sushi rice, so you top it with mungtigi and a little wasabi to make mungtigi sushi!
⑤ Yukhoe absolutely needs the egg yolk! I popped the yolk and ate it together with the yukhoe — the added smoothness and richness gave it a different charm than the mungtigi!
Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap ₩15,000

Piled high with yukhoe and with a fragrant hint of sesame oil, mixing it all together was so good!! After eating just meat, finishing with rice at the end made the meal feel really satisfying!

If you want to eat mungtigi and finish with a proper meal like we did, ordering one yukhoe bibimbap to share would be a good idea~!

They also had hair ties, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and candy ready to go! Such thoughtful prep~~ Apparently if you leave a Naver receipt review, they give you either chuck flap shabu-shabu or sweet raw shrimp sashimi, so everyone should try it~! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
Final thoughts
I visited [Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch] while looking for something a little different in Bangi-dong! I went in with high expectations since they use same-day-slaughtered hanwoo, and it really was chewy and flavorful — delicious.

I especially recommend the mungtigi + red sauce combo strongly!! That was totally my style!! Plus the baek-kimchi~~ If you're looking for a place in Bangi-dong to have drinks, hunting for a good restaurant near Jamsil, or need a spot for a friend gathering or company dinner, this could be a great choice. Above all, if you love yukhoe, raw beef, and mungtigi, it's worth visiting at least once. I want to come back on a nice day and try it in the outdoor tent seating too~~ If you're looking for chewy hanwoo mungtigi in Bangi-dong, I recommend [Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch]!
