This visit to Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch was for my middle-school daughter's very first magic straight perm. My K-middle-schooler daughter, who's clearly caught some kind of appearance bug now that vacation's here, has been staring in the mirror every single day begging me for a magic perm. 🤬

She used to have wavy hair with some curl left, but now this is the style she wants.

I kept saying no because I'd heard magic perms damage the hair a lot, but after searching around I found out Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch has what's called a Healthy Signature Magic Perm 🌈

This is the original Cheongdam hair salon, Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch.

It's the main premium salon of Park Jun Beauty Lab, a Cheongdam hair salon with a 40-year history. It's a certified 15-Step Head Spa shop. (About 10 minutes on foot from COEX and the luxury shopping street)

For parking, enter Raemian Apartment and the underground B2 parking lot is immediately on your right, valet is also available. Parking is paid, ₩3,000.

What's the salon atmosphere like

This was my first time seeing a salon do something like this — Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch does a hair and scalp check beforehand to give each person a private, personalized treatment.

Luckily, her hair turned out healthy and her scalp passed with flying colors too~💗

Healthy Signature Magic process and time

The Healthy Signature Magic at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch takes about 160 minutes. The order is as follows.

• Scalp and hair diagnosis
• Shampooing
• Cut (separate)
• Chemical application and wrapping
• Iron magic
• Neutralizing and shampoo

First step, off to the shampoo room~

So, my daughter's hair had grown out a bit messily since she got an S-curl 7-8 months ago.. she hadn't had a cut since then either, so it needed a proper tidy-up~ So after the shampoo, first came the cut ✂️

Designer Youngwan says he specializes in layered cuts and filler perms (iron perms for guys)~ Even though filler perms are his specialty, of course he's also great at magic perms and iron perms. On the day I went, there were indeed a lot of boys coming in for their hair too.

My daughter has a ton of hair so he thinned it out a bit, and since she dislikes her round face shape she asked him to complement her face shape a little🤭

After applying the chemical, it's left to sit a bit with wrapping~ It's boring when it's my own hair getting done, but watching my daughter's is kind of fun haha

Next, after a light rinse, it's straightened out with the iron~ This part quietly takes a lot of time. But once this step is done, today's Healthy Signature Magic Perm is basically finished ✂️
