Rainy-day Mulgeum brunch café: long black vs americano at Famous Venny

It was the weekend and I wanted a relaxed brunch with a cup of fragrant coffee. In Mulgeum, Yangsan, I found exactly the place I was looking for: Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch (페이머스베니 양산오슬로파크점).

Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is at BK Building, Units 6 and 7, 14 Beomgu-ro, Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam, South Korea, and it is open 8:00 – 18:00. It is inside Yangsan Oslo Park, so there is a parking lot.

They give 2 hours of parking support, so we could take our time eating.

Interior and atmosphere

This is a newly opened brunch café in Mulgeum, Yangsan, so the inside felt clean and tidy. It is a brunch café, but also a nice place to drop in for a quick coffee alone, so there are single seats too. It looked comfortable for enjoying brunch by yourself without feeling self-conscious.

Famous Venny is a brunch café that brews its coffee with Dukes beans. I heard Dukes is one of Melbourne, Australia's top three coffees, so I was really looking forward to the coffee even before we arrived.

A relaxed rainy-day view. Add brunch and Australian coffee on top, and it reminded me of New Zealand.

Is it okay with a baby? Spotless high chairs

The seats are spaced widely, and there is a mix from sofa chairs to rattan chairs, so you can pick whichever is comfortable. I went with my baby, and there were lots of high chairs, and above all they were super clean?! It's not easy to find well-kept high chairs, so as a baby's mom I was so happy haha

Brunch menu we ordered at Famous Venny

Since it was a rainy day, we ordered a hot americano, The Famous Venny Bacon, the garlic butter egg (Turkish egg), and the newly released acai bowl. There were special dishes you can't find at other brunch cafés, which made me even more excited. Next time I want to come back and try other brunch dishes too.

Since we came with a baby, they also set out baby tableware for us. The kind owner put me in a good mood before we even started eating.

Americano vs long black: Dukes coffee compared

Comparing the hot americano and the long black at Famous Venny, the long black had stronger acidity. I ordered the two cups differently on purpose to compare the taste, just so you know.

Also, the coffee at Famous Venny Oslo Park Branch is very strong!! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes their coffee bold.

What does the garlic butter egg (Turkish egg) taste like?

Famous Venny's garlic butter egg (Turkish egg) has egg, yogurt and pickled onion on a tomato sauce. It was my first time trying Turkish egg.

It's a bit salty, so it's intense on its own, but dipped in well-toasted bread the flavor mellows out and it was so good? It's like the difference between eating ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) by itself and dipping meat in it. Eaten with the bread, the combination of yogurt, tomato and bread was so good 👌

The Famous Venny Bacon

The Famous Venny Bacon comes with fresh vegetables, bread, macadamia nuts, avocado and other fresh ingredients, put together just right for brunch. A big breakfast usually leaves me feeling bloated, but with the vegetables it tasted fresh and healthy.

The most satisfying dish: the acai bowl

The acai bowl at Famous Venny was the most satisfying dish of the day. I ordered it because it reminded me of an acai bowl I had in Seoul, and it was far tastier and healthier than I expected. Banana, coconut chips, peanut butter and the rest, every part of the combination worked. It also tasted fresh, so I shared it with my baby.

A delicious combo packed with banana and frozen blueberries!! Next time I'm definitely ordering this again.

After the blueberry cream cheese toast too, I wondered if I'd overeaten for a brunch.. haha But it was so good that I finished it all.

What I liked most about Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is that you can truly relax in a stylish interior with a lovely atmosphere!! It's a comfortable environment for going with a baby, so I recommend it for a weekend meal with the whole family or as a date spot for couples.
