Gomemui Hyundai Gardenfive is a Japanese restaurant with everything from the tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) and udon kids love to the pot rice (rice cooked in an individual iron pot) grown-ups enjoy. When you visit Gardenfive with kids, deciding where to eat is as much of a headache as the shopping, right? Kids want one thing, adults want another, so picking a family meal isn't easy, but Gomemui takes a lot of that worry away!

True to its name, which comes from the French word "gourmet" (a lover of fine food), every dish here is really tasty! The shop is brand new, so it's very spacious with lots of seats, and we had a comfortable visit.

Where is Gomemui Hyundai Gardenfive, and how is the parking?

Gomemui Hyundai Gardenfive is newly opened on the food street on B1 of Techno Hall at Hyundai City Outlet Gardenfive. You use the Gardenfive parking lot, and with a meal receipt you can park for up to 4 hours, which is plenty for shopping and a meal, isn't it? It's a great place to eat while shopping at Gardenfive.

A clean, spacious Gomemui

The interior is done in wood tones, with seats for 2 and for 4, which suits families perfectly. Walking in, it felt clean yet warm, and the wood throughout made it feel cozy.

The menu is mainly pot rice, tonkatsu, udon and curry. There are familiar dishes the kids love, plus hearty pot rice for adults, so the choice is wide, which I liked. Steak pot rice, perilla oil mushroom pot rice, abalone pot rice, salmon soboro pot rice... so many things I wanted to try!

This time we ordered tonkatsu and udon, but next time I come with their dad, I'd like to add pot rice for a really filling meal! We went in right when it opened at 10:30!

The whole mozzarella cheese katsu is one of the tonkatsu dishes my kids like best, so we ordered it right away. It's packed with cheese, so the cheese stretches out, and the crispy outside with tender meat and cheese inside has a great texture.

You get that nutty cheese flavor, and it goes well with the loin, so it's a favorite of mine as well as the kids'.

The fish cake skewer udon comes with two fish cake skewers in hot udon, which looks hearty just to look at. The warm broth, soft fish cake and chewy noodles come together into something good for kids to eat too.

The udon noodles are chewy through and through. I like the bouncy texture when you bite in. Udon tends to get soggy, but the noodles stayed chewy until the end of the meal. The tonkatsu set made it perfect for sharing with my second child.

Is Gomemui's mini curry too spicy for kids?

The mini curry has a nice little kick!

The mini curry has a slightly spicy finish, so it was too hot for my 6-year-old second child, but about right for elementary school age and up. We added it as a side, and it's enough for about 3 to 5 bites, so it goes well with the tonkatsu.

You get that rich curry flavor, and the slightly spicy finish cuts the richness. It's too spicy for my 6-year-old, but it's a heat that elementary schoolers and up can handle.

Gomemui Hyundai Gardenfive is a place where, even when you eat out with kids, the adults can enjoy the meal too. It's inside Gardenfive, so you can shop before or after eating, and not having to go anywhere else makes getting around much easier.

You can enjoy the chewy noodles and fish cake skewers of the udon, and the tonkatsu set also gets you loin katsu, a good size to share with kids. Do try the whole mozzarella cheese katsu!
