My husband and I hadn't had an evening out in Naseong-dong, Sejong in a while, so we headed to Yaki Naseong Branch. It serves seafood dishes along with drinks, so it looked like a good pick for a dinner where you also want a light drink.
I don't drink, but my husband had alcohol with his food. It was great that a drinker and a non-drinker can visit together and split the orders between meal dishes and drinking snacks. This is a Sejong Naseong izakaya worth knowing about.
Where is Yaki Naseong Branch in Sejong, and what is it like inside?
Yaki Naseong Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building at 133-15 Naseong-ro in Sejong, and we went with a reservation. A standing signboard in front of the entrance made it easy to find.

We ordered the premium seafood platter, introduced as Yaki Naseong Branch's signature menu item. You get to taste several kinds of seafood at once, so it was nice for two people to eat slowly while chatting.
Another feature of this dish is that you can put the seafood on the gamtae served with it. Eating the seafood plain and eating it with gamtae feel different, so it was more fun than eating it just one way.
The set includes unlimited gamtae, so I didn't have to worry about running out and could pair it freely with the seafood. My husband ate his with alcohol, and I enjoyed mine mainly with gamtae and seafood.
The seafood platter goes well as drinking food, but it's also a dish a non-drinker like me can happily eat. So it's worth considering if you're looking for a Sejong Naseong izakaya that suits both people who like drinking and people who don't.
Uni (sea urchin gonads; I keep calling it sea urchin roe and my kid keeps saying no, that's not right... haha), plus salmon roe and gamtae. All my favorites in one set.
The sweet shrimp is, quite literally, sweet.
