What is TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch?
TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch (티에이지실내캠핑장 홍대본점) is an indoor camping spot I'd recommend as an indoor thing to do in Hongdae. It's already a hot spot around here, and I hear celebrities have filmed here too!

TAGE is perfect for an indoor date near Hongdae, and we had a really unique, offbeat experience there! You can soak up the camping mood and relax without going far from the city, so I wanted to recommend it.

How to get to TAGE Indoor Camping in Hongdae
TAGE is about 650m from Exit 9 of Hongik Univ. Station (Airport Railroad and Gyeongui-Jungang Line), so it's very easy to reach. From the Hongdae main gate, head 150m toward the club street, and it's across from the Nike store. It's also a 5-minute walk to the club street from Exit 1 of Sangsu Station.

You follow the signboard outside and head down into the basement, and from the very first step there's fresh green grass, so we walked in feeling excited!
How do the time slots work at TAGE Indoor Camping?
TAGE runs four slots a day, and we entered the 3rd slot (5:00–7:30pm). I hear entry and exit times differ by 30 minutes depending on the spot.
- 1st slot: 11am–2pm (3 hours)
- 2nd slot: 2pm–5pm (3 hours)
- 3rd slot: 5pm–7:30pm (2 hours 30 minutes)
- 4th slot: 7pm–11pm (4 hours)
What are the atmosphere and comfort like?
TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch is a camping spot full of mood, with soft music, lighting and movie-like interiors. Gentle music is playing, and as you look around you think, what is this vibe?! It feels just like being in a movie, and the interior and lighting are so pretty and atmospheric.
You can just show up with nothing but yourself and start enjoying right away, so I couldn't help cheering that camping in the city is this easy! It was hot outside, but inside it was cool and comfortable, smelled nice, had a great vibe and was clean. The air conditioning was blasting too! We grabbed a seat right away. Rain, snow, heat or cold, you can camp comfortably here whatever the weather, which I love.

The owner and staff were both friendly, welcomed us and recommended a seat, and after a quick explanation of how everything works, we started enjoying ourselves!
Things to do at TAGE Indoor Camping
TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch has shared spaces: a karaoke area, a tent area and a Nintendo area.

We played some Nintendo games too!

There's a good variety of board games too, so we tried several and just relaxed.

Dogs and restrooms
Oh, and good news for pet owners: dogs are welcome at TAGE! They must wear a diaper, though, and I was told dogs can't come in without one.
The restrooms are separated by gender and close by, so there's no need to go to another floor. Very convenient.

You can even do a campfire-style fire gaze, and you can watch YouTube or Netflix, so I think this might be the perfect place to unwind!
Fresh vs frozen pork belly: which was better?
At TAGE you order easily from a kiosk. We ate both fresh pork belly and frozen pork belly, and the fresh one was seriously delicious! We grilled pork belly to feel the camping mood. Oh, and we ordered extra meat too, haha.

We stir-fried kimchi alongside and ate it with instant rice and ramyeon, and it was so nice to enjoy camping this easily and comfortably.
Ventilation seemed good too: the meat smell cleared quickly and the pleasant atmosphere carried on.

We even ordered banhap ramyeon (ramyeon cooked in a camping mess tin) twice!

Outside food and delivery rules at TAGE
You don't have to grill meat at TAGE: takeout and delivery food are both fine. If you bring takeout or delivery, they only provide the seat.
- Tableware such as burners, bowls, banhap mess tins and disposables is free
- A grill rental fee applies if you use only takeout food
- Butane gas must be purchased when using food you brought
- Dishwashing is handled by the shop
- Takeout food packaging must be sorted for recycling
We brought instant rice (Hetbahn) and microwaved it there.

Can you bring your own alcohol?
Wine and whisky can be brought in at ₩15,000 per table. The shop sells soju, beer, whisky and wine. But some items are not allowed: beer, soju, and soft drinks like cola and cider can't be brought in.

Everything is prepared, so you can just come as you are, which I loved so much! After a big meal, just listening to the crickets and music, looking around and zoning out is healing in itself.
