Hongdae indoor camping date with a lie detector and ramyeon: TAGE
In short
TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch is an indoor campsite and party room on basement level 1 of 79 Wausan-ro, near Hongik Univ. Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a first visit during a downpour, the blogger ate fresh pork belly and Neoguri ramyeon (spicy instant noodles) at a tent table, then enjoyed free karaoke, board games, a lie detector and Nintendo. As a weatherproof Hongdae date or group spot, TAGE Indoor Camping was far more satisfying than expected.

I was looking for something to do indoors in Hongdae on a rainy day and found a really good place, so I'm leaving a review :)

- Address: 79 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea (B1 floor)
- Hours: daily 11:00 - 23:00

This was my first time at an indoor campsite, and afterwards I wondered why I hadn't found it sooner. A place like this near Hongik Univ. Station...! 🙊 It works for couples' dates, get-togethers with friends, company outings and team dinners, so it's super versatile.
What kind of things to do in Hongdae is TAGE Indoor Camping?
TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch is an underground space within walking distance of Hongik Univ. Station, set up with tents to give an indoor camping feel. The key point for me: it's clean and well air-conditioned, so summer heat or rainy days don't affect you at all.
When I thought of Hongdae, I only thought of clubs and aesthetic cafés, but there's a spot that's perfect for an unusual date. So I ran right over!!! It's a walkable distance from Hongik Univ. Station, so access is great, and just like the name says, they've recreated camping indoors!! With the tents set up, it really feels like you've come camping.

When bad weather ruins your outdoor date plans, TAGE is the first place I'll think of from now on :)
What are the time slots and table fees?

TAGE runs in 4 time slots, and the base fee is ₩40,000 per table. Seats without a monitor get ₩10,000 off, so ₩30,000 :)
- 1st slot 11:00 ~ 14:00
- 2nd slot 14:00 ~ 17:00
- 3rd slot 17:00 ~ 19:00
- 4th slot 19:00 ~ 23:00
Since everyone entering at once could get crowded, they stagger entry by 30 minutes per spot. Thanks to that, check-in was much more relaxed and the staff could walk us through everything carefully.
How much is the pork belly, and can you bring outside food?

TAGE sells fresh pork belly (samgyeopsal) directly: ₩14,500 per person includes one portion of pork belly, kimchi and lettuce. Honestly, camping without food would be a letdown, right? See the color of that meat?! It's fresh pork belly sourced the same day, so the flavor was the real deal 🔥 Eating great pork belly while camping made the atmosphere different and the taste feel more special.

With pork belly, kimchi and lettuce all included in ₩14,500, the value felt decent! (Pork belly alone is ₩9,500 per portion.) Side dishes are free to help yourself at the self-serve bar!

An indoor campsite that allows both delivery and takeout
And this is the real differentiator: places like this usually ban outside food. But at TAGE, both takeout and delivery orders are allowed. Pizza, fried chicken, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), you can eat it all in one go at TAGE!!!! Eating whatever you want while still getting the camping vibe, isn't that the real advantage of an indoor campsite?! 👍
You can also bring wine or liquor, with corkage of ₩15,000 per table :) There's a wide variety of menu items you can order at TAGE too, so check the photos below.

We added Neoguri ramyeon (spicy seafood instant noodles) too 🤤
Are karaoke, Nintendo and Netflix really free?

TAGE has Netflix and YouTube, open-style karaoke, board games, Nintendo and retro consoles, and the karaoke costs nothing extra. Honestly, the amenities were what I liked most when booking this place.
Netflix & YouTube
You can put on a movie while eating camping food and chatting. It's as comfy as being at home, but with camping vibes..!
Free karaoke
It's open-style like a karaoke bar, free for anyone to use, and you can sing as much as you like without paying a separate karaoke fee. What a deal,,, for a friends' get-together or a team dinner, you don't even need to go to a second round 👍
Board games and a lie detector
I go to board game cafés a really, really lot. TAGE has a wide range of board games too, so they look very handy for awkward groups. I think they'd be especially useful for workshops or team outings where people are meeting for the first time :) There's also a lie detector, so it's fun to try on a date with your partner 🤣
Nintendo and retro consoles
It's honestly heaven for gamers. Play a little Nintendo and you'll wonder where the time went?! There are retro consoles too, so you get a bit of an arcade feel :) The consoles differ from table to table, so I recommend checking carefully before you book a spot!
Overall verdict on TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch

Visiting TAGE Indoor Camping Hongdae Main Branch in person, it was much better than I expected. Camping vibes with no weather worries (it really poured that day), eating whatever you want, plus karaoke and games!!! Next time I'm looking for an indoor party room near Hongik Univ. Station, I'll just book TAGE without a second thought.
Being an indoor campsite that allows delivery and takeout at the same time is the real differentiator :) It's a solid spot for escaping summer heat, for rainy-day indoor dates, and for team dinners or outings, so I recommend visiting at least once.
