I heard that Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji (못생긴뚱돼지), a Cheonan favorite by word of mouth, was opening in Cheongdang-dong, so I ran over with a friend for meat right away~
Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji Cheongdang Branch hours and parking
Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji Cheongdang Branch is at 39 Cheongsu 9-ro, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan. It is open 11:00–24:00, with last order at 23:00. For parking you can use the building's basement or the Hanaro Mart lot.

How long is the dinner wait, and what's the atmosphere like?
Maybe because it just opened, the place felt clean and fresh. We came for dinner and were surprised to find so many customers that we had to wait outside for a bit~

We waited about 5 minutes before going in. The interior is tidy with generously spaced seats, so I think it suits company dinners, family meals and group gatherings. I couldn't get the inner seating in the photos, but there are more, even roomier seats back there. It's also a good pick if you're eating out with kids who love meat!

Ordering raw pork ribs at the kiosk
There are quite a lot of meat options at Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji Cheongdang Branch, so deciding what to eat takes a while.

I ordered the raw pork ribs at the kiosk. I'm waiting with a smile, thinking about the meat! Next time I'd like to try the Mottung beef ribs (못뚱 우갈비) too.

The owner's recommended ssam wraps and the self-serve bar
What sets Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji Cheongdang Branch apart, to me, is the variety of sauces and ssam (leaf wraps) for the meat. Helpfully, the owner's recommended ssam flavors are posted, and I privately vowed to try all 5 kinds once the meat arrived~

The self-serve bar is fully stocked with wraps and sauces! They say the restaurant prepares all the side dishes itself. There's fresh vegetables and plenty of kimchi, so they seem to take care of everyone's different tastes.

Soy sauce rice, bomb steamed egg and side dishes
The soy sauce rice and steamed egg (gyeran-jjim) we ordered extra arrived. I'm the type who always eats at least a little rice with meat, so I tried the soy sauce rice. Mixing it with the "bomb" steamed egg was a perfect match.

The side dishes really whet the appetite. Fried egg and corn are good any time. I should pace myself on the sides, but I ate way too many before the meat even came. Haha.

How do the staff-grilled raw pork ribs taste?
The raw ribs arrived. Dipping meat in galchi-sokjeot (salted cutlassfish-gut sauce) is so tasty, and today I could finally try that delicacy properly.
A staff member came over, grilled the meat just right and even cut it for us, which was nice.

Juicy raw pork ribs full of flavor
The raw pork ribs at Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji Cheongdang Branch have thick meat and lively juices, and you can taste the natural flavor of fresh meat, so I was glad I ordered them. The meat at Motsaenggin Ttungdwaeji in Cheongdang-dong, Cheonan, was definitely good.
We dipped and wrapped away, and the portion was generous, even a bit much for just two women.

When I looked up from eating, customers kept streaming in. Lots of young guys came for meat in particular. The portions seem great for young people with big appetites. We ended up eating among them and kept up just fine~ haha.

I love wrapping my meat with this tangy radish. I think it goes well with pork. Of course I also enjoyed dipping in the various sauces. There are sauces that cut the greasiness of the meat, which I loved, and the owner seems to really know what meat lovers like.
A glass of beer would be the perfect touch with meat, but I came by car, so sadly no drink this time... Next time I'll definitely have a drink with the meat.
