Layered C-curl magic setting at a Daejeon hair salon: Project Lure

Today I'm sharing my review of Project Lure, a hair salon in Sangdae-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon that's great with women's hair!

Project Lure in Daejeon: basics and how to get there

Project Lure (프로젝트루어) is at 34 Woldeukeop-daero 316beon-gil, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, on the 1st floor. Hours are Monday to Saturday 10:30–19:30 and Sunday 10:30–19:00. You can park in front of the shop, but the space is limited.

Project Lure is in the alley right in front of Yuseong Middle School! You have to go inside the building, so keep that in mind.

There's a big sign right out front, so it's easy to spot.

Can you check Project Lure's prices beforehand?

Project Lure posts its treatment prices openly. These days a lot of people get flustered at salons when the bill comes out far higher than expected, so I really liked this.

How did Project Lure's owner assess heat-perm-damaged hair?

BEFORE. My hair is something else, right..? I always get S-curl perms so it's frizzy, and since they were heat perms it's all damaged too. I dye it black regularly and it still wouldn't cover ㅠ

Later the owner of Project Lure told me that because the hair was damaged by heat perms, even dyeing wouldn't help much ㅠㅠ and that gradually cutting it off is best. After checking your hair condition, the consultation on the style you want begins!

Why a magic setting for a chunky layered C-curl?

I wanted a layered C-curl perm, and I wanted it chunky. The owner told me a magic setting (straightening the top while setting curls below) would be better for that, so I chose it right away!

Basic hair treatment and shampoo before the perm

Before the main treatment they did a clinic (conditioning) treatment first. I didn't add a specialist clinic, but they do the basics up front.

Then I went to get my hair washed, and the chair was so plush and comfortable. The staff member was also really attentive, which I loved.

After washing, they wrapped my hair up in a towel and brought me back. Why is that so hard to do by yourself...

Does the owner handle the whole service herself?

At Project Lure the owner personally handles your service! At some salons the owner only does the big parts and the staff do the rest, which really disappointed me. Here the staff sometimes help, but the owner does most of the main work, so I felt I could trust it!

During the heat treatment or any gap in time, the owner comes by and asks what you'd like to drink. And it's not just one kind: coffee, tea, juice and more.

Heating the rods and straightening the top

They roll the hair on rods and apply heat, and even then they check one by one whether it hurts or pulls. (They even took a TMI photo... haha ㅠㅠ)

Since I got the magic setting, they straightened the top section with a flat iron, and they were so thorough that I was genuinely touched.

The gown at Project Lure was interesting too, so stylish, right? It's a gown you put your hands through, so I could use my phone or drink my drink during the treatment, which was nice.

Neutralizing at the massage shampoo chair, then finishing

Finally, I got the neutralizing step and had my hair washed here, and there was a massage chair! They gave me a scalp massage while I was in the massage chair, so I felt completely pampered.

How did the layered C-curl magic setting turn out?

After. My finished hair at last! The curl came out exactly the way I wanted, and I loved it.

From the side it looks like this, but what I liked most was the top section! My hair is more frizzy than you'd think, so I kept saying I'd get a straightening and never did. Even when I did, it never felt fully straight, more like "it's a bit straighter...?" But Project Lure straightened it completely! And the curl below is set firmly too.

Does the C-curl hold up at home?

The magic setting at Project Lure is designed to be easy to style, so the curl keeps holding at home too. With S-curls or C-curls, if the curl is designed oddly or is hard to style, it only looks pretty in the salon and not when you do it yourself ㅠ At Project Lure in Sangdae-dong the design was great and they showed me how to get the curl to fall nicely, so even a week later I'm still styling it prettily and going about my days!

From the front it looks like this. The curl went in so prettily, right? I was totally satisfied!! I met up with some older girlfriends for a meal that day and they complimented my curls, and I remember how happy that made me...!!
