As I spent more time propping up my smartphone and tablet on my desk, I started looking at angle adjustment, stability, and portability all together. I used the 비티냐 360° Rotating Portable MagSafe Stand with a Galaxy and iPad mini to see how well it worked for using both devices.
How do you adjust the angle and joint tension?
The top is a round magnetic plate, while the bottom has a folding joint for adjusting the angle and height. It rotates 360 degrees, so switching between landscape and portrait felt natural. The footprint is not excessive, and its low center of gravity made it feel stable on the desk.
The package includes the stand body, a MagSafe sticker, and a hex key. You can adjust the joint tension with the hex key. The joint may feel a little stiff at first, but I liked that it did not sag downward with the devices I used.
Does a Galaxy in a MagSafe case attach securely, too?
I use my Galaxy smartphone with a MagSafe case. With this combination, the magnet attached securely, and I barely worried about it wobbling or falling off from a light bump on the desk.
Whether I stood the smartphone upright or turned it sideways to watch videos, the base did not slide or feel as if it would lift. It may feel like more than you need simply to prop up a smartphone, but the construction made sense to me because stability matters.
Does it keep its angle with an iPad mini on it?
For the iPad mini, I attached the included MagSafe sticker to its case. It is heavier than a smartphone, but the stand supported it without seeming strained, and the joint did not sag—it held the angle I wanted.
For working, I could make the joint a little firmer; when I was mainly watching videos, I could make it a little smoother. I was also happy to make better use of desk space without needing separate stands for a smartphone and tablet.
What is it like to carry in a bag?
It is not overly large, and it is fairly slim when folded, so it fit nicely in a pouch or laptop bag. It was easy to take out when I needed a stand at a café or another place to work outside.
That said, if you expect an ultralight product, it may feel a little heavy. For me, that weight translated into stability on the desk, but it is a drawback if lightweight portability comes first.
What kind of use did it suit best?
For the way I use it, the most useful part was being able to alternate between a Galaxy in a MagSafe case and an iPad mini case with the sticker attached. I thought it would suit anyone who values stable support and angle adjustment over lightness and uses a smartphone and tablet together.
