Nowon sushi buffet window seats and chocolate fondue at noon: Kuu Kuu

Hi everyone, today's post is about the place I absolutely love — Kuu Kuu!!! Here's my review of the Nowon branch, haha.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a real family-gathering favorite, and I loved how spacious the large rooms were.

Weekend noon at Kuu Kuu Nowon: how long is the wait and where to park?

When I visited Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch around noon there was no wait, but by around 1pm a line had formed. I'd recommend reserving ahead!

Parking is available behind the building — 2 hours free if you park at the Seoul Oncheon Building (paid nearby lots if full).

300 pyeong of space: private rooms and group seating rules

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is decorated in natural wood and white, and I felt at ease the moment I walked in. At over 300 pyeong, it's a spacious, comfortable place perfect for family meals or group dining. There's even a kids' playroom, which makes it great for family gatherings.

• Rooms seat a minimum of 40 up to 60
• Group seating from a minimum of 14 up to 200

With capacity like that, it's also perfect for a company dinner.

Since I'd reserved ahead, they gave me these wide-open window seats with floor-to-ceiling glass. The interior is huge, so you can use independent spaces for 50, 80, or up to 300 guests almost like a private venue. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a private dining room.

From the salad bar to the sushi and roll counter

The salad corner greets you right as you walk in — light options that are great to start the meal with. Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch isn't the Gold tier, but it has just as many dish varieties, so I had the happy problem of not knowing what to pile onto my plate first, haha.

• Aged kimchi salmon futomaki / California roll / spicy chili tofu crunch roll / crunch California roll
• Tuna roll wrapped in salmon / spicy grilled pork belly roll / cheeseburger roll / shrimp roll
• Aged kimchi tuna yukhoe roll / snow cheese salmon roll / fried shrimp roll

Now for the main sushi corner — there really were so many varieties of sushi.

• Eel roll / cheese amaebi roll / flying fish roe red gunkan / beef roll
• Woo-samgyeop pickled radish roll / Uljin red snow crab gunkan / stir-fried kimchi gunkan / avocado salmon gunkan
• Soy sauce shrimp gunkan / tako wasabi gunkan / monkfish liver gunkan / tuna salad tofu gunkan

There's also yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) gunkan, and the cockle bibimbap was delicious — highly recommend it!!

Bigger fresh salmon sushi and flounder sushi

My favorite — fresh salmon sushi!! And flounder sushi too. They've upped the fish size on these, so your mouth gets filled with flounder and salmon, and I genuinely got full off them! Not fishy at all, so fresh you keep reaching for more.

Shrimp sushi made with mudan (botan) shrimp

There was egg shrimp sushi, vinegared shrimp sushi, and plenty of other shrimp sushi options. Made with mudan shrimp, the shrimp flavor really came through. My all-time favorite — egg shrimp sushi (the one I order 3 plates of at conveyor belt sushi spots)!!!

Norwegian fresh salmon sashimi and the seafood corner

Isn't the amberjack sushi's color gorgeous, haha? And now pay attention!!! They've launched Norwegian fresh salmon sashimi, which isn't even available at the Kuu Kuu Gold branches. The nutty salmon just melted in my mouth, ㅜㅜ (available weekday dinner and weekends/holidays).

It's not just salmon — soy sauce marinated crab and mul-hoe (cold raw fish soup) shrimp jang, this seafood buffet at Kuu Kuu has it all, a real Nowon standout.

My first plate was piled with all my favorites, haha. The salmon was so good I went back for refills several times.

Kid-friendly dishes and the bunsik (Korean snack food) corner

The sushi and roll corner isn't the end — there's a huge lineup of dishes still waiting. Starting with LA galbi (marinated beef short ribs), a favorite for the whole family~~

Kids especially love the sausage stir-fry and lemon cream shrimp, guobaorou (sweet and sour pork), chili shrimp and mala shrimp — there was even mala tang.

You can't skip a bunsik (Korean street food) corner like this. I piled my plate with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) too, haha.

Cheese sticks, corn dogs, fries, wing bones — every dish kids love is here. There were 3 kinds of pizza too, plenty to go around, and the cream pasta at the pasta corner was delicious.

Lamb chops, smoked duck and steamed blue crab at a buffet

Over at the meat corner: chicken, pork ribs, lamb chops. It's rare to find lamb chops at a buffet, but Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch even has that.

The lamb chops had barely any smell and weren't tough, so I really enjoyed them, haha.

Smoked duck is a new addition too (weekday dinner and weekends/holidays menu). Chewy texture that pairs well with just about anything — no smell, not tough, I ate as much as I wanted.

Dessert corner: crepe cake and chocolate fondue

There was even steamed crab, so I really got to enjoy a wide variety of dishes, haha. Next up — my favorite part of Kuu Kuu, the dessert corner! You've got to try the crepe cake — I'd recommend it for sure. It was just as good as a proper bakery's, haha.

Kuu Kuu's fruit never falls short on freshness or flavor. I remember going back for watermelon over and over, haha. And at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, the marble ice cream — previously only available weekday dinner and weekends — has now been upgraded to be available at lunch too. I always end up eating 2 bowls no matter what.

You can also enjoy a variety of sorbets. Marble ice cream, which kids adore, will probably be very popular during school breaks, haha.

There's another menu kids will love — chocolate fondue! Even I found it fascinating to watch. It's fun dipping different ingredients into it. There's also bingsu (shaved ice dessert), sikhye (sweet rice punch) and slushies — plenty of drinks you can enjoy freely, which was so nice.

Unlimited draft beer, only at the Nowon branch

A special perk only at the Nowon branch!!!!!!! Not Filite — real draft beer, Terra and Kelly, are free. I couldn't resist this.......... (leave a review and get unlimited draft beer, worth ₩5,900, free). Perfect for a hot summer day at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch.

Since you can finish off even dessert at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, there's really no need to head to a café afterward~~! Great value and great taste — I recommend this Nowon sushi and seafood buffet, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch.
