Suwon City Hall Station tea house: caffeine-free Kusmi rooibos at Diaz
In short
Diaz Cake Boutique is a newly opened tea house and cake boutique on the 2nd floor of the Diaz Cafe building on Na Hye-seok Street in Ingye-dong, Suwon. The writer and her mom sat at a table by the floor-to-ceiling windows with a fig fresh cream slice cake (11,900 won), grapefruit tea (7,900 won) and caffeine-free Kusmi Tea Vanilla Rooibos (8,900 won), and loved the antique interior and teapot presentation. For a quiet tea time away from busy Na Hye-seok Street, Diaz Cake Boutique is a great fit.

Diaz Cake Boutique interior: a sunlit, antique-style tea room

Diaz Cake Boutique is on the 2nd floor of the existing Diaz Cafe building on Na Hye-seok Street in Ingye-dong, Suwon.

The moment you get off on the 2nd floor, you're hit with such a classic feeling.

Stepping inside, the luxurious wood-toned interior blended with soft lighting gave off a really refined impression right away.

I couldn't just walk past this mirror on the way to our table haha — the lighting and surrounding vibe felt like a photo zone, so I ended up taking a ton of pictures haha.
There was also a row of tables along one wall that felt like a cozy spot where you could enjoy tea and dessert without any disturbance.
Window tables and a display of European-style teapots
Walking further in, there were round tables and long tables right in front of a huge window wall.

Behind that, there was a whole display of cute yet gorgeous European-style teapots, tea tools, and all kinds of tea sets, which was really fun to browse.

In this antique, classic space, these adorable teapots felt really kitschy and fit in perfectly.
Diaz Cake Boutique menu and prices
Diaz Cafe is famous as a go-to cake spot near Suwon City Hall Station. It's said to be a dessert spot that sticks to premium ingredients, using 100% dairy Seoul Milk fresh cream as the base for its cakes along with President butter and the like.
Diaz Cake Boutique also had a variety of pretty cakes, slice cakes, financiers, and other desserts.

Being a proper tea house, they also had a great variety of teas. I ordered a seasonal fig cake, grapefruit tea, and a caffeine-free rooibos tea.
- Fig fresh cream slice cake ₩11,900
- Grapefruit tea ₩7,900
- Kusmi Tea vanilla rooibos ₩8,900

After ordering, we took the buzzer and sat at a table by the window wall to wait, and the warm autumn sunlight along with the gentle breeze drifting in through the window was just the highlight.

When we got our tea and cake, the teapot was totally my style — I loved it so much!

The plating really matched the classic boutique lounge atmosphere, and I loved it.
How do the grapefruit tea and caffeine-free Kusmi rooibos taste?
Grapefruit tea
Diaz Cake Boutique's grapefruit tea is a tea generously loaded with slightly bitter yet sweet grapefruit flesh. It wasn't too sweet and warmed you right up, so my mom really loved it. It wasn't overly artificial in flavor, so it was nice to sip without getting sick of it.
Kusmi Tea Vanilla Rooibos (caffeine-free)

The Kusmi Tea vanilla rooibos comes in a teapot with just the right tone and manner — pouring the warmly steeped tea through the strainer made it even cleaner and more enjoyable to drink.

Over a subtle rooibos base, a soft vanilla aroma lingered, and each sip left a deep, warm aftertaste.
How was the fig fresh cream slice cake?

As expected, of course. Diaz Cake Boutique's fig fresh cream slice cake had fresh fig flesh and dairy fresh cream that was fluffy and soft — the texture and flavor were both delicious.
With big chunks of fig piled on top, both the aroma and the flavor were great, and it wasn't overly sweet, so I could enjoy it freshly all the way to the last bite.

A quiet tea time with mom on Na Hye-seok Street
I really loved that in the bustling Na Hye-seok Street of Ingye-dong, there was a space like this where you could have such a tidy, quiet tea time. My mom also said the atmosphere was great and that it was nice to relax and enjoy tea at ease after a long time.

If you'd like to enjoy some leisurely tea time with soft, deeply flavorful premium desserts, I recommend visiting Diaz Cake Boutique!
