ZERO100 PC Gireum near Gireum Station: I came for paperwork and ended up on a food spree

I visited ZERO100 PC Gireum (제로백PC 길음점), a go-to PC café near Gireum Station. I had some documents to work on and figured I'd swing by a PC café soon, but I ended up doing a mukbang (eating show) that would put a snack bar to shame, haha.

But seriously, why are PC cafés so nice these days? It's been a while since I last went to one, back in my school days, and I was shocked at how pleasant, clean and tidy it was. I honestly wondered whether ZERO100 PC Gireum is just especially well done or whether all PC cafés are like this now.

Right when you walk in, there's a busy kitchen-slash-counter that feels like a restaurant. The staff were so friendly that my first impression was great. They even post the country of origin for the ingredients, haha!

Where is ZERO100 PC Gireum, and what are the hours and parking?

ZERO100 PC Gireum is at 248 Dongsomun-ro, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, Building 105, B1, Units 2-9 and 78-90, on the basement level of the Sambu Apartment shopping arcade near Exit 4 of Gireum Station. It's open 24 hours every day of the year, and free parking is available.

The restrooms are separate for men and women, and as you can see the whole place is incredibly comfortable. It was so popular around Gireum Station that there were hardly any free seats. Almost full!

ZERO100 PC Gireum seating: 2-person seats and a 5-person team game room

There are 2-person seats too, which is great for friends or couples. It turns out ZERO100 PC is a chain. I've barely been to PC cafés, so I'd imagined the dark, smoky, swear-filled kind from TV and movies, but the vibe here was really peaceful, haha.

And look, there's a game room for a 5-person team. Gathering a party for League of Legends (LoL) and playing here would be fun, haha.

ZERO100 PC Gireum also runs a Naver review event and a KakaoTalk friend-add event, and the perks are pretty substantial. Definitely worth doing!! 👏👏👏 Okay, now let me finally start using the place. But first, the menu!

ZERO100 PC Gireum menu: ramyeon, rice, tteokbokki and snacks

Wow, the ramyeon (instant noodle) lineup at ZERO100 PC Gireum is no joke, right? It looks like every hot ramyeon in the supermarket is gathered here, haha. I ordered Jjagyechi and Teumsae Ramyeon (egg + rice cake). The big surprise is that it feels much cheaper than a snack bar. Why go to Kimbap Heaven when you can just go to ZERO100?!

This is the meal and rice menu. Spam egg rice, kimchi fried rice, curry rice, chicken mayo, beef bulgogi and more, there's everything. It really puts Hansot (a lunchbox chain) to shame!

Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and snacks! Hot dogs, sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers), Puringkle chicken, french fries and more, snacks everyone from kids to grandparents loves. So this is heaven, haha.

From ₩4,500 Jjagyechi to Gimpitang: my honest review of what I ate

Take a look at this power shot. The part-time staff were a bit surprised by what I ordered, right? Sorry, haha. But I ate it all happily and left feeling touched.

Jjagyechi: Chapagetti + egg + cheese, ₩4,500

Ramyeon someone else cooked for you really does taste the best, admit it?!! Jjagyechi at ZERO100 PC Gireum is just ₩4,500. Chapagetti + egg + cheese, I can't resist that combo!!!

I really came to use a computer and ended up doing a proper mukbang. I think I spent 30 minutes just eating, haha. Eat, computer, eat, computer... it felt like going back to childhood, hahaha.

Gimpitang: glutinous-rice sweet and sour pork with kimchi and cheese

I was drawn to Gimpitang and ordered it: glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) loaded with kimchi, cheese and a tasty sauce. A can't-go-wrong combo.

Great as a snack.

Cheese tteokbokki with egg + hot dog

Last was cheese tteokbokki with egg + hot dog, and it was really good. At this point it's not a PC café, it's a snack bar, a Gireum hot spot, no???

A day of a proper snack party, haha. I had fun. Next to me people were busy gaming. Couples, I'd recommend trying a quirky PC café date like this once.

Two hours of paperwork and an online application at ZERO100 PC Gireum

For the rest of the time after the meal, I sipped an iced chocolate at ZERO100 PC Gireum and kept my blood sugar up to the very end. Full focus!!! For about 2 hours I filled out various documents and submitted an application, a productive stretch. Using just my phone and tablet at home felt cramped, and I think coming to a PC café once in a while to work calmly on a big screen is better, haha.
