My used iPhone 7, which I bought while traveling in Japan, kept shutting off on me, so I searched hard and ended up at SANFIX, an iPhone repair and battery replacement shop in Gwangju. Here's my story ♡

Where is SANFIX, and is there parking?
SANFIX is in Room 704-2 on the 7th floor of the BYC Building in Sangmu, Seo-gu, Gwangju, and you can use the BYC Building car park free for up to 1 hour 30 minutes. The BYC Building is the one with the Saemaeul Geumgo bank, across from Starbucks, so keep that in mind!

- Parking: BYC Building car park (free for up to 1 hour 30 minutes)
- Hours: weekdays 10:00-19:30 / weekends 10:00-18:00
Parking in Sangmu is especially tough, but the BYC Building car park has room for 106 cars, so I could come without worrying about it. I loved that.
How to find SANFIX on the 7th floor of the BYC Building
Take the elevator up to the 7th floor and turn right, then walk past the law office and you'll spot SANFIX. You have to go quite far in, so much that I wondered if I was in the right place. Just keep heading right!

What is the waiting area at SANFIX like?
Inside, SANFIX is about the size of a studio apartment, with chairs and a table for waiting! Some repair shops have nowhere to wait, or only uncomfortable spots, but SANFIX has a proper setup, so it's a good place to wait during a battery or screen replacement.

You can also have a little coffee or tea. Handy if the wait runs a bit long!

There were magazines and books too, so I didn't get bored while waiting 📚

Why did the iPhone 7 shut off at 60% battery?
My used iPhone 7 from Japan would shut off as soon as the battery hit 60%, and the owner at SANFIX diagnosed it: the battery was so swollen that the phone was bending. I hadn't known what was wrong, I just guessed it was the battery, so I went to SANFIX... right?
The owner took one look at the phone and said that replacing just the battery would fix it, so I had it done right away 🔋

What warranty does SANFIX give on battery replacements?
SANFIX replaces with a certified battery and gives a 180-day after-service warranty on it, so even if something goes wrong, it won't be a hassle. The notes and precautions for after the replacement were written out kindly too, so they were easy to understand!

They give more of a discount than I expected for joining a review event, so definitely take part. A Naver photo review in particular gets ₩7,000 off, so you'd be missing out if you skipped it...!

What battery does SANFIX put in the iPhone 7?
SANFIX's batteries are official KC-certified products, so I felt I could trust them. They're said to have 10-20% more capacity than standard, which sounded really good for a small-battery model like the iPhone 7!

How long does an iPhone 7 battery replacement take?
The iPhone 7 battery replacement at SANFIX took about 10 to 15 minutes, and the swollen battery was swapped out neatly! I recommend booking and checking stock first so you can visit without rushing.

Is SANFIX worth trusting with your iPhone?
SANFIX, a Gwangju iPhone battery replacement shop, was friendly and affordable, a good place to trust with a battery swap or repair. Handing a phone to an independent repair shop can feel unsettling, but SANFIX uses a certified battery and the experienced owner does the repair, so I felt I could leave it with him.
The roomy parking and the waiting area inside also let me wait comfortably during the repair. With a certified battery, transparent repair prices, professional repair skills and a repair warranty, SANFIX is worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere in Gwangju to repair an iPhone or replace its battery!
