Yeouido Korean BBQ with 1-hour parking and cheese fried rice: Yuk Lab

Yuk Lab Yeouido is a beef and lamb Korean BBQ restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Yeouido General Market building by Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, where every seat is in a private room. After a Han River date, this couple drove over, got 1 hour of parking support in the double-parked 1st-floor lot, and ordered the 2-person Yuk Lab set (jingalbi short rib, tosisal skirt meat, lamb ribs) plus kimchi fried rice topped with cheese. Yuk Lab Yeouido is a quiet spot for blind dates or anniversaries, rated ★★★★ for a return visit.

Second-floor beef katsu restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul: Gyuen Dang

Gyuen Dang Seongsu Main Branch is a gyukatsu (beef cutlet) and omurice restaurant on the second floor of a building 3-4 minutes' walk from Exit 3 of Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Arriving at 11:40am with her sister, the writer ordered tenderloin gyukatsu, hamburg omurice and two colas; the tenderloin was tender and the portion reasonable, though big eaters may want more. Because Gyuen Dang sits on the second floor rather than in a basement, the ventilation is good, and with solo seats it works for a Seongsu date or a meal alone.
