Where is Mudeungdowon and when is it open?

Mudeungdowon is a café at 56 Bomun-ro 32-gil, 1st floor, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, open daily from 09:30 to 19:30. It's close to both Bomun Station and Sungshin Women's University Station.

I walked over from Sungshin Women's University Station! The location is great. You can feel the good atmosphere even before you step inside, haha.

There are seats outside the shop too! On a nice day it would be lovely to drink out here :)

Is there a wait at Mudeungdowon? Is it hard to get a seat?

The counter is right in front of you as soon as you walk in! I thought the place was full and was ready to wait, but luckily there was a seat left for me. It's a popular café, so it was packed with customers, haha. I got lucky with one seat.

What desserts and drinks does Mudeungdowon have?

On the day I visited, the showcase had a raspberry tart, ube roll (purple yam roll cake), chodang corn and triangle chocolate, haha. I agonized between the raspberry tart and the triangle chocolate and ordered the raspberry tart. Honestly I was curious about the ube roll and wanted to try the chodang corn too, but I was craving something tangy, lol.

They sell cardamom buns too! I like cardamom so I was curious, but I was more in the mood for sweet desserts, haha.

There's a filter coffee menu too, so you can pick whatever you like! There's a "today's filter coffee" and a "tomorrow's filter coffee," which made me laugh, lol. I wondered about a cardamom milk tea, but since it was afternoon I went with a decaf café latte :)

With so many cardamom items, I wondered if the owner loves cardamom! It's a spice not used much in Korea, so I was happy to run into it after a long time, haha.

What are the atmosphere and seating like at Mudeungdowon?

When you come in, the owner says thanks for making the trip and pours you a glass of water, T_T I felt so well looked after and was touched by the thoughtfulness... It really quenched my thirst!! It felt so friendly that I relaxed right away, haha.

Music plays continuously at Mudeungdowon, and I recognized some of the songs, which was fun, haha. The owner has great taste in music!! I spotted some familiar album covers too.

Inside there are sofa seats and stools, so sit wherever you like :) The café is so cozy that I wanted to stay for a long time! The owner chatted with me kindly too, and I got the feeling it has lots of regulars, haha.

Is the decaf café latte at Mudeungdowon good?

Here are the raspberry tart and decaf café latte I ordered! Doesn't it look great?! Haha. The two went together so well that I recommend the combo if you visit Mudeungdowon. I didn't expect them to match like this, and looking back, I'm really glad I ordered them.

The decaf café latte at Mudeungdowon is ₩6,500. I figured they'd be good at hand drip, but I don't like drinking decaf as drip, so I ordered a latte, T_T Next time I'll definitely try the filter coffee!

Personally, decaf usually tastes a bit hollow to me, which is a letdown, but Mudeungdowon's decaf latte didn't have that feeling much, so I enjoyed it more than expected!! The owner is serious about coffee, and you can taste it, haha. I admit it: a latte specialist.

True to its name as an LP café near Sungshin Women's University, even the tea coaster at Mudeungdowon is an LP record, haha. I love details like this!

How does the raspberry tart at Mudeungdowon taste?

The raspberry tart at Mudeungdowon is ₩6,500, and I picked it after a hard debate between the cardamom bun and the triangle chocolate! It's a rich, nutty tart piled with tart raspberries, and the tangy and nutty flavors blended nicely, haha. I felt I'd chosen well :)

Friendly owner, cozy atmosphere, and both coffee and dessert were delicious. That was Mudeungdowon!!
