Sinyongsan burger spot: original vs. triple patty lunch, Bass Burger
In short
Bass Burger Sinyongsan is an American diner-style burger restaurant on Yongridan-gil, between Sinyongsan Station and Samgakji Station in Yongsan, Seoul. Two friends split an Original Bass Burger and a Triple Bass Burger for lunch, adding chili mozzarella cheese bars, bacon cheese fries, coleslaw and Bass Lager, plus trips to the bottomless potato chip self-serve bar. Choose the Original for a fresher taste or the Triple for a rich, meaty one; Bass Burger Sinyongsan is worth a return visit whenever you want a burger with a beer.

Where is Bass Burger Sinyongsan and when is it open?
Bass Burger Sinyongsan (바스버거 신용산점) is at 11 Hangang-daero 46-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, and the official Instagram says it's open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.! I'd recommend double-checking the hours before you go~~
I had plans in Yongsan one day, and while pondering lunch I ended up at Bass Burger, famous for its handmade burgers.

Walking down the alley, the red BAS BURGER sign catches your eye right away. With its white walls, red awning and brick, it looks like an old American burger joint. Even in passing you know instantly it's a burger place, with a casual vibe! Sitting between Sinyongsan Station and Samgakji Station, it's a great spot for a date on Yongridan-gil or an office lunch in Yongsan.

How do you order at Bass Burger Sinyongsan?
You order at the kiosk on each table. There's a menu at the counter when you walk in, but every table has its own kiosk, so just order there!
You can choose the menu and all the add-on options on the screen, which is super convenient, wow.

The menu is pretty varied, from the basic Bass Burger to the Double Bass Burger, Triple Bass Burger, chicken burger and shrimp burger. Many handmade burger places start at over ₩10,000, but Bass Burger is relatively easy on the wallet for single items.
Bass Burger's unlimited chip self-serve bar
Best of all, the fun thing about Bass Burger is the unlimited potato chip self-serve bar on one side of the restaurant!

Big containers are packed with chips, and you can help yourself whenever you run out. The wall even says "Please help yourself to the chips!" It warms the heart... a bottomless bar to end all bottomless bars.

Bass Burger's chips are a bit thicker and crunchier than ordinary thin chips! No exaggeration, my friend and I kept saying "these are the best chips I've ever had;;" while eating... Before the food arrived, we kept picking at them one by one and suddenly the bowl was empty T_T Ketchup and mayonnaise are self-serve too, as much as you like, which is perfect with the chips 💯
What we ordered at Bass Burger for two
While we were grabbing chips nonstop, the generous spread suddenly arrived!!!

Here's what we ordered this day!!
- Original Bass Burger
- Triple Bass Burger
- Bacon cheese fries
- Coleslaw
- Chili mozzarella cheese bars
- Craft beer Bass Lager
- + Zero Coke haha
The food comes in red plastic baskets and on stainless steel trays, giving off strong American diner vibes. The illustrations on the wrappers and tray paper are cute too, so it's great for photos haha

How spicy are the chili mozzarella cheese bars?
Before the burgers, the first thing that caught my eye was, of course, the mozzarella cheese bars, the hottest thing right now!!
Bass Burger's chili mozzarella cheese bars are coated in a spicy seasoning and fried crispy, with cheese inside, so they're salty and nutty. They lived up to expectations.. hehe The sweet-and-spicy chili seasoning is spread evenly over the surface, so they also went well as a beer snack.

At first they seemed pretty spicy, but it's less a harsh heat and more the chili aroma rising through the richness of the cheese? They're not a side with just a thick coating; the cheese really makes its presence known, so I recommend them with a burger if you like cheese!!

Original vs Triple Bass Burger: what's the difference?
Original Bass Burger: plenty of veggies, fresh taste
[Left in the photo] What I ordered was the Original Bass Burger, the basic menu item. A beef patty, cheese, tomato, onion and big lettuce sit between a soft brioche bun. What I liked most was that there were more vegetables than I expected. Handmade burgers have strong patty and cheese flavors that can get a little heavy as you eat, but here the fresh lettuce and tomato keep the overall taste light!!

Triple Bass Burger: three patties, rich meat and cheese
My friend ordered the Triple Bass Burger, hefty from the name alone. The patties are stacked much thicker than the basic Bass Burger, so it had presence from the moment it hit the table. With three patties, the first bite brings meat and cheese flavor ahead of the vegetables. Cheese melts between the stacked patties, so the beefy aroma and salty cheese flavor are quite intense.
If you want a clean, balanced taste, go for the Original Bass Burger; if you want the rich flavor of patties and cheese pushing hard, go for the Triple Bass Burger!!

Bass Burger side picks: bacon cheese fries and coleslaw
Oh, and for sides I highly recommend <Bacon Cheese Fries> and <Coleslaw>!!! Thick cheese sauce and salty bacon on fries is a predictable combo, but still one that can't possibly be bad...

Bass Burger's coleslaw has crunchy cabbage and carrot, and the sauce isn't too sweet or watery, so it went especially well with the meat-and-cheese-heavy Triple Bass Burger 🤤💦 (though it's good enough to eat on its own too)

Even if you don't like beer, try the Bass Lager
Bass Burger's craft beer, Bass Lager, is perfect even for people who don't know beer. Personally I don't really like beer, but this one is moderately refreshing, moderately sweet? moderately bitter? It's the kind of beer you want a glass of in summer, so I highly recommend adding a <Bass Lager>!!!
Bass Burger Sinyongsan: overall verdict
Verdict: a place I'd return to when I want a casual date spot in Yongsan, or a burger with a distinct patty flavor and a glass of beer!
It's a Yongridan-gil hotspot, so on a day you're craving a burger, please go, go, go... 🫶🏻
