The deeper into summer we get, the frizzier hair gets, right, guys? My side and back hair flares out a lot, so if my cut gets pushed back even a week, I look messy fast, and it stressed me out. I wanted to tidy up my hairstyle and change my look, so I visited Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch, known for its skill, and got a men's perm and a down perm.

The interior is a calm wood-tone design that feels like an upscale study. The moment you walk in, a huge wooden bookshelf filling one whole wall greets you, and it felt like I'd come to a café to unwind rather than a hair salon.

Overall, the seat spacing and walkways are wide and pleasant, so it doesn't feel chaotic even when there are lots of customers. I liked that.

My consultation for hair that flares at the sides

Because of my flared-sides problem, I told them I most wanted a neat hairline, and for the top, a curl that looks natural but is easy to style.

My styling that day was handled by the deputy director (buwonjang), said to be the best at men's hair in all of Juno Hair. I was out of it and hadn't brought any reference photos, but after carefully studying my head shape and hair texture, he recommended exactly the style I wanted, so I trusted him before styling even began!

They checked carefully and attentively whether anything was uncomfortable, and I really liked that. (I'd pulled an all-nighter the day before and was in a daze, and the moment they saw my empty coffee cup they refilled it..🥹)

How did the men's perm + down perm turn out?

With the men's perm at Juno Hair Hongdae Entrance Branch, just shaking my hair dry with a blow-dryer gave a natural yet tidy silhouette. The most important thing for me in a men's perm is a 'natural look,' and it was exactly what I wanted, so I was super satisfied..💕

They gave the top a moderate curl and set the volume so it doesn't puff up, so my head shape looks much nicer, and the down perm pressed the sides and back neatly flat. When I looked in the mirror, my overall impression felt much sharper.

Any scalp itching after the down perm?
