Yangjae Station bossam restaurant for a group dinner: Yangjaeok

My friend's company is near Yangjae Station, so we decided to meet up for a Yangjae Station restaurant outing. Lately when I meet friends we barely eat Western food and mostly go for Korean haha. Korean food is just the best✨🩷

So we decided to have bossam (boiled pork) at a Korean restaurant near Yangjae Station! We went to Yangjaeok, which is famous for its bossam.

Where is Yangjaeok, and what are its hours?

• Location: 2629 Nambusunhwan-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 1st floor
• Hours: Weekdays 11:00–22:00, Weekends 11:00–21:00

Yangjaeok is located near Exit 4 of Yangjae Station. Because it's so accessible, I heard it's also a popular company dinner spot in the Yangjae area 💓

How to walk there from Yangjae Station Exit 4

Just walk straight out from Exit 4, then turn right where you see this spot, and you're there ❣️

Right after the turn, the Yangjaeok sign comes into view! Being so close to the subway made it super convenient to get to.

Tiled-roof exterior and a roomy dining hall

Here's the outside of Yangjaeok. True to its name, the exterior is decorated like a traditional tile-roofed house haha.

Wait, right before going in, this photo made me even hungrier because it looked so delicious haha. So the moment we sat down, we ordered this juanjang (drinking platter).

Here's the inside of Yangjaeok. The space is pretty spacious, so it seemed like a great spot for a family gathering in Dogok-dong too.

At a table further in, a group had been having a company dinner for over 10 minutes. Definitely seems like a solid company dinner spot in Yangjae ❣️

Yangjaeok's menu: gomtang and the juanjang platter

Here's Yangjaeok's menu. It's originally famous for its gomtang (beef bone soup) too — I noticed someone at the next table eating gomtang solo! But since we came for something specific, we ordered the juanjang without any hesitation ❣️ And since there were three of us, we also ordered a makguksu (buckwheat noodles) just in case it wasn't enough.

Juanjang platter review: bossam, jeyuk-bokkeum, dubu-kimchi and zucchini pancake

The juanjang came out fast!!! Total visual bombardment ✨✨✨ Like, how many delicious side dishes are on here.

A freshly fried zucchini pancake got added on top! It was so generous — this would be the perfect order if you're heading to a company dinner spot in Yangjae.

There's bossam and jeyuk-bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) for the meat options 🥰 And the real kicker is the dubu-kimchi (tofu with kimchi) haha. I love eating a little bit of many different dishes, so this was exactly my style of drinking spread 🩷

I tried the boiled pork with kimchi first, and I can't even describe how good it was~~~💓 The pork was boiled so well it was tender and chewy at the same time ❣️

We wrapped the jeyuk-bokkeum in lettuce like this. Eating it with lettuce, the pork disappeared instantly! The lettuce also disappeared instantly, so we asked for a refill. The staff member — or maybe the owner — was so pretty and genuinely kind 🥹🥹

Snacking on the zucchini pancake in between everything made the whole meal feel clean and satisfying ✨✨ A perfect spread for a Korean restaurant near Yangjae Station.

Makguksu review: the perfect partner for bossam

You've got to order makguksu when you're having bossam, right? Bossam and makguksu together — no need to say more 🫶🏼

So my friend mixed up the makguksu for us 🩷 At first I was worried it wouldn't be enough for three of us, but the portions were so generous that we almost couldn't finish it — but it was so good we finished it all anyway haha.

The seasoning and the buckwheat noodles in the makguksu were both so tasty, and eating it right after the bossam was a perfect match. My friend was so happy that there's a Korean restaurant this good near Yangjae Station, right by the office haha.

If you're looking for a good restaurant in Yangjae, I recommend Yangjaeok — great for a company dinner, great for Korean food, and great for eating alone too! It also seems like it'd be perfect for a family gathering in Dogok-dong 💓
