What is Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch like?

Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch (정정아식당 정왕점) is a chicken stew (dakbokkeumtang, braised spicy chicken) restaurant on Seochonsangga 4-gil in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, and one of the writer's favorite eateries in Siheung. Whenever there's a reason to pay for chicken stew, this is the first place that comes to mind!

Four of us went to Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch and ordered a medium-size chicken stew and cockles. The portion was huge...

See the drink price??? ₩3,900... these days it's ₩5,000 everywhere, but here it's ₩3,900, haha. What a bargain, seriously. Soft drinks are just ₩1,900 too!!!

Is it a good group dinner spot in Jeongwang-dong?

Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch is quite spacious and comfortable, so a lot of company dinner groups come here. On the day we visited, there were really a lot of them, haha!! With drinks this cheap, it's perfect for a group dinner... you could totally drink like crazy without worrying about the bill, haha.

How spicy and tasty is the chicken stew?

You can choose the spice level at Jeongjeong-a. We went with medium, and even people who can't handle spice can enjoy it! Personally I love chicken stew with plenty of broth, and this is exactly that kind, so I loved it. Add extra noodles or other add-ins (sari) and it's even better!!

Do you have to order the cockles?

The killer point of Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch is the cockles. Honestly, the cockles here are the real kick >_<

Maybe it's because everything is made fresh every day, but it's even tastier!! The cockles are really plump and the seasoning is amazing. You have to eat these.. And once they're gone, mixing rice into the leftover sauce is insane~~~~💕💕💕

Fried rice to finish: what to eat next time?

After finishing the chicken stew, we polished it off with fried rice, the Korean-style dessert~~ The fried rice was awesome too *_* If you're looking for a filling, cheap group dinner spot or dinner place in Jeongwang-dong, I highly recommend Jeongjeong-a.

Oh, and we didn't have it this time, but the acorn jelly (dotorimuk) here is amazing.. the squid is good too, haha. I recommend trying a set menu to taste a bit of everything!!!
