Apgujeong weekend date restaurant, omurice years later: Eulji Darak
In short
Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park is a Western restaurant near Apgujeongnodeo Station in Gangnam, Seoul, on the 2nd floor of a building on Eonju-ro 168-gil, and you enter by pushing open a bookshelf. On a weekend date with her husband, the writer ordered the Darak omurice, Darak rose pasta, katsu sando, a butter highball and a Coke Zero, and found the Darak omurice tasted exactly as she remembered from her first visit years earlier. Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park is worth recommending as an atmospheric pasta and omurice date spot in Apgujeong and as a venue for a wedding invitation meetup.

I went on a weekend date with my husband around Apgujeong Rodeo. I was craving Western food for the first time in a while, and while searching I suddenly thought of Eulji Darak (을지다락), so we headed to the Dosan Park branch.

From the unique entrance you push through a bookshelf to the whole atmosphere, it's great for dates 😆 It also looked perfect for a wedding invitation meetup with friends, so here's my honest review!
Eulji Darak Dosan Park: location, hours and parking
Eulji Darak Dosan Park is on the 2nd floor at 25 Eonju-ro 168-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's open 11:30 – 21:15, with a break time of 15:15 – 16:30 and last order at 20:30. It's a short walk from Apgujeongnodeo Station, so it's easy to reach.

There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public or paid parking lot.
The entrance you push through a bookshelf
If it's your first visit, the fun starts right at the entrance.

From outside it just looks like a bookshelf, but you have to push it open to get into the restaurant. I hadn't seen a bookshelf at the other branches, and it's a point that really gives off date vibes 🤍

A good atmosphere for dates and wedding invitation meetups
Inside, the wood-tone interior felt cozy, and the tables were spaced generously, so it was easy to talk. There were plenty of couples, but quite a few tables of friends too, and the calm mood made me think it would work well for a wedding invitation meetup.

One more thing I liked! Tablet ordering is common these days, but at Eulji Darak you ring a bell and a staff member comes to take your order. It felt like a charm that's unique to Eulji Darak 🌼

The restroom is on the floor right above, and it was kept clean, so I was happy with that. It's something I quietly care about when going to a restaurant, so I liked that they paid attention to details like this.

What the two of us ordered
- Darak omurice (omelet rice)
- Darak rose pasta
- Katsu sando (breaded cutlet sandwich)
- Butter highball
- Coke Zero

Darak omurice: how does it taste after years?
The dish I was most looking forward to at Eulji Darak was of course the Darak omurice! When I first visited a few years ago, this was the menu item that stuck with me the most.
I even tried to recreate that look at home, rolling eggs over and over and copying it every which way, but it was way harder than I expected. 😂

I remember finally giving up and deciding this is just something you go out and eat, and after trying it again after so long, I understood why I kept thinking about it.

The fluffy egg, the fried rice and the sauce all went together really well. If you like omurice, I'd definitely recommend trying it once.

Is the Darak rose pasta too heavy?
The Darak rose pasta we ordered alongside, an Apgujeong pasta option, was very good too. The rose sauce wasn't too rich and was pleasantly spicy, so I never got tired of it until the end.

Ordered together with the Darak omurice, the combination was great, and if you visit as a pair, getting one of each to share is just right.

Katsu sando as a side, with a generous portion
The katsu sando I got as a side was better than expected too! It was crispy outside and moist inside, and eating it with the salad that came with it kept it feeling fresh.

It's a side dish, but the portion was big, wasn't it?

Butter highball and Coke Zero
It was my first time trying Eulji Darak's butter highball, and the subtle butter aroma that rises up made it unique. It felt light rather than boozy, so it'd be good for couples on a date or for drinking during the day!

I was curious how it would be at first, but it paired with Western food better than I expected.

I also sipped a Coke Zero in between, and cola really is the best match for Western food. 😊

Eulji Darak Dosan Park revisit: final thoughts
Eulji Darak Dosan Park tasted just like I remembered, which made the return even nicer. The food was tasty and the atmosphere good, so it suits a date as well as a wedding invitation meetup with friends!

If you're looking for a great pasta restaurant with a good atmosphere in Apgujeong, I'd recommend it. Next time I'm planning to try the other pastas and the steak!
