Yangyang sashimi takeout still firm after 4 hours: Eosiljang

We just got back from a family trip to Sol Beach in Yangyang, haha. Since we were in Yangyang, I really wanted sashimi, so here's my review of Eosiljang, a well-known sashimi takeout spot near Sol Beach 🐟

How far is Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout from Sol Beach?

Eosiljang is a sashimi takeout shop near Sol Beach and Hajodae in Yangyang, only 10 minutes from Sol Beach by car. After playing at Sol Beach, I wanted sashimi as a late-night snack, so I looked for a takeout shop.

On a family trip you usually have to go to a sashimi restaurant, right? But eating comfortably in your room is so nice too...! It was close to Sol Beach, so the trip felt effortless, haha.

Booking, pickup and parking at Eosiljang

Eosiljang is takeout only, so I reserved in advance on Naver and then went. They had the sashimi sliced to match our pickup time, so we could take it right away when we arrived.

There was almost no waiting, which was so convenient 😌 There's also plenty of parking in front of the shop, so no parking stress either.

The shop is really clean! No hygiene worries at all, haha. Maybe because it's a takeout specialist, service was quick and the packing was neat 🤍

What fish come in Eosiljang's assorted sashimi?

I was told the assorted sashimi changes with the day's supply: flatfish, fluke, rockfish, sea bream, sea bass and so on! There were three of us, so we got the 3-person set 💜

Maybe because it's a takeout shop, everything was packed so neeeatly to match our pickup time!!

What's in the 3-person sashimi takeout set?

The 3-person set comes split into 3 packs. A regular sashimi restaurant usually serves one big platter, so having it divided like this made setting up in our room much easier, haha.

• Live fish sashimi (flatfish, rockfish and more!)
• Conch
• Abalone
• Shrimp
• Wrap vegetables (lettuce, perilla leaves)
• Garlic, Cheongyang chili peppers, garlic stems
• Lemon
• Rakkyo (pickled scallions)
• Canned fruit cocktail
• Chogochujang (sweet chili sauce), sashimi soy sauce, wasabi and chopsticks, everything included!!

With chopsticks, seaweed, wrap vegetables, sashimi soy sauce, chili sauce and more all included, it was so handy to be able to eat right in our room..✌️

I'd worried I'd have to bring my own chili sauce or soy sauce for eating in the room, but everything was in there, so convenient 😭 The amount is just right too! Not too heavy for a late-night snack, but not too little either, haha.

Eating the 3-person sashimi as a late-night snack at Sol Beach

I laid out a generous spread with conch, garlic, wrap vegetables, sashimi and shrimp! Hahaha

We ate it as a late-night snack after the sauna, so we added cup ramen too, and it was such a hearty, delicious combo 😭

The sashimi hits you first with a chewy, springy texture, and as you chew, a subtle sweetness comes up. It's sliced thick, so the chew is the real deal!! For takeout sashimi, it surprised me that the bounce typical of live fish was fully intact 💙

I put a perilla leaf on lettuce, then a piece of sashimi, garlic, a little chili sauce and a garlic stem, and wrapped it all up... The crunch of the lettuce, the sharpness of the garlic, the crisp sweetness of the garlic stem and the chewiness of the sashimi all land in one bite, like a gift 😋 See how my chopsticks never stop, hahaha?

Was the sashimi still firm 4 hours after packing?

We ate it about 4 hours after packing, and the sashimi was still firm and glossy!! Best of all, it was really fresh and tasty even as takeout!

My mom especially said it was really fresh and delicious.. that the quality was great, which made me proud, haha. If it's fresh and tasty enough for the parents, it's guaranteed ✨ The other adults with us also said "the sashimi is really fresh and delicious," which made me so proud, haha.

On a family trip, the hardest thing is picking food for the older generation's taste, right? This was a very satisfying choice 💛 I don't think you'll easily find sashimi takeout this good for a Sol Beach room snack....!! Fresh, thick-cut, a generous set, easy parking, and reserved pickup, all perfect 😭

Eosiljang also has mulhoe and maeuntang on the menu, so if you're heading to Yangyang on a family trip, definitely give it a try!!
