I brought home a Real Mango Rose whole cake from Chef Cho (쉐프조) at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam. If you want a cake that's pretty and delicious for a special day or a dessert with family, I recommend Chef Cho's whole cakes!!! I'd had my eye on the Real Mango Rose for a while, and since it comes from a cake specialist run by a master baker featured as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings of Cake" on the TV show Master of Living (생활의 달인), my expectations were sky-high 💓

It's in Shinsegae Department Store, so it's super convenient. A great pick for cakes in Shinsegae Gangnam or a Gangnam cake shop, haha

Chef Cho Gangnam is in Sweet Park on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam, and parking can be validated depending on how much you spend. Sweet Park has lots of dessert brands gathered together~~~ but Chef Cho's whole cakes with fruit are so appealing that you can't help stopping as you walk past (≧∀≦)ゞ You can also buy a cake in the middle of your department store shopping!!

Chef Cho is even more famous because it was shown as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Cake on Master of Living~~ The cakes bring out the flavor of the ingredients, so you can't help noticing them as you pass haha. The ingredients are piled on generously 👍

Chef Cho uses 100% animal-milk fresh cream, and its signature fruit whole cakes are the Apple Mango Strawberry Flower and the Real Mango Rose. They look absolutely insane ㅠㅠㅠ There's a Mini and a No. 1 size, so you can pick whichever suits the occasion haha

The marron (chestnut) cake that suits autumn looked so good that I was tempted too ㅠㅠ It's a Shinsegae Gangnam cake shop that uses organic flour.

There's also a fig pistachio cake that's perfect for autumn. If you're after desserts that bring out the natural flavor of the ingredients rather than a strong sweetness, Chef Cho is a Gangnam cake shop for you.

How is the Real Mango Rose No. 1 packed for takeout?

I packed up the Real Mango Rose No. 1 and hurried home haha. It's a mango whole cake that really suits an anniversary, and it was overwhelmingly pretty from the first look~~~

I think the harmony between the fruit's own flavor and the fresh cream matters most in a fruit cake~~~ Chef Cho, being a Seoul cake shop, is said to aim for bringing out the natural taste of mango, so I was extra curious about this signature!!

Takeout comes with one ice pack as standard, and they recommend getting home within 1 hour~ For longer trips, you can add a fee for extra cooling!!! They also carefully included as many candles as I needed.

Is Real Mango Rose a good anniversary cake?

As the name says, the Real Mango Rose is a whole cake topped with mango arranged beautifully like roses >< A cake topped with fruit looks bright and cheerful, so it's perfect for special days like birthdays and anniversaries, right?? The Real Mango Rose really does brighten up the table when you prepare it as an anniversary whole cake 💛

If you love mango's sweet flavor or want a different kind of fruit cake, I absolutely recommend it.. The delicious mango scent drifts up ㅠㅠ The look alone was overwhelming and I was so excited ㅋㅋㅋㅋ As you'd expect from a Shinsegae Gangnam cake shop, the packaging is neat and classy too, ideal for a special day (≧∇≦)ﾉ

The Real Mango Rose is also great as a dessert with a cup of coffee~~ and it looks even prettier with the candles lit. With the flame glowing over the Real Mango Rose it looked like a flower, and I fell for it (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Real Mango Rose taste: how much mango, and how sweet is the cream?

When I peeled off the band around the Real Mango Rose, the sides were full of mango too!! It's a fresh cream cake that isn't overly sweet, so I highly recommend it to anyone who prefers the harmony of fruit and cream over a strongly sweet cake!!!

Not just the outside, the sponge and cream inside are perfect too... Packed full, soft and delicious!!! It's animal-milk fresh cream, so it's not heavy, you know!!
