Jokbal restaurant near D-Cube City with free parking: The Jokbal

Picking a place for a group meal or company dinner near Sindorim is hard, isn't it? I wanted something nobody would complain about, so I went to The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch (더족발 신도림본점), a well-known D-Cube City area favorite. We ordered the half-and-half jokbal, and we liked it so much that I'd go back. Here's my review!

Is parking easy at The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch?

The building has a parking lot, and it's free for up to 2 hours 30 minutes. It's near Ramada Sindorim Hotel, right in the middle of the city, and parking is always a worry in this neighborhood, so I really liked this.

The exterior is neat and no-fuss too, which made me look forward to the jokbal even more.

Atmosphere and seating: is it good for group dinners?

The inside was cleaner and more pleasant than I expected. There are quite a lot of seats and the tables are big, so it looked good for group gatherings.

Ramada Hotel and The Link Hotel are nearby, and lots of weddings are held there, right? It looked like a good place for an after-wedding get-together too.

There's a jokbal lunch set too

Looking at the menu, the lunch options are a really good deal. A jokbal set for lunch—how fresh is that?

We wondered what to eat and ended up ordering the half-and-half jokbal: original jokbal plus spicy, seasoned jokbal.

The half-and-half jokbal is ₩49,000. Soon after we ordered, a full spread arrived with the jokbal, and it clearly looked generous, which made me happy.

The cool soup that comes by default suited me well, and it went nicely with the jokbal.

Leek salad (buchu muchim) is a must with jokbal, right? The Jokbal's was tangy and tasty, and the lettuce wraps came in generous amounts too. Jokbal topped with leek salad was a great combination. If you go, definitely try it this way.

Order jokbal and get cold jokbal free

At The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch, when you order jokbal, cold jokbal (naengchae jokbal, served chilled with a cold dressing) comes free. It's nice to taste it without ordering separately. It was cool and clean, and it was good to have after a bite of the spicy jokbal.

How did the original and spicy jokbal taste?

The half-and-half jokbal arrived neatly arranged in one bowl: moist-looking original jokbal and spicy jokbal whose seasoning looked delicious right away. The signature aroma of the spicy jokbal was wonderful the moment it came out. You know that sharp, nose-tingling smell?

Original jokbal: chewy, with no gamey smell

I tried the original first, and it was chewy and tender. There was no gamey or porky smell at all, so I could enjoy it. It's clean-tasting jokbal and I liked it.

Spicy jokbal: a gentle smoky heat, not overpowering

The spicy jokbal had a sharp heat that wasn't too intense, and a subtle smoky fire-grilled flavor that was delicious. The seasoning had soaked into the meat just right, so it was nutty and spicy.

Alternating between the original and spicy jokbal kept us from getting tired of it, and the two go really well together. The portion is fairly generous too, so even several people sharing wouldn't go short.

They gave us plenty of lettuce wraps and kept refilling them, and wrapping the jokbal in them made it even tastier.

The Jokbal Sindorim Main Branch was a good place: tasty jokbal and easy parking. The space is big and clean, so we could eat without feeling rushed. When you want chewy jokbal and nicely spicy jokbal, visit The Jokbal near Sindorim Station. You'll get some delicious jokbal.
