Spacious, comfortable interior, and a second floor for group dinners

Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo has no break time on holidays, so I took advantage of that and went at a more relaxed hour. The weather was great that day, and the airy, open interior really stood out.

The inside is this big and comfortable. There's another large dining room on the 2nd floor too, which is why I recommend Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo for team dinners in Gasan Digital Complex.

The reason I recommend it for Gadi team dinners is the price. At ₩59,000 per kg, it's an eel restaurant with top-notch value. 1kg is enough for 2 people and it's only ₩59,000, so I think a team dinner here in Gasan Digital Complex might even come out cheaper than samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly).

Is 1kg of Pungcheon eel for ₩59,000 enough for two people?

At Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo, we started by ordering 1kg of Pungcheon eel (₩59,000).

The look of the fresh Pungcheon eel gives you confidence in the taste. By the way, Pungcheon eel is a type of freshwater eel, a river eel caught around Gochang-gun in Jeonbuk. "Pungcheon" is the name for the terrain where fresh water and seawater meet, and the eels caught there are called Pungcheon eel.

Honestly, two of us can put away 3 or 4 servings of samgyeopsal, but eating more than 1kg of eel isn't easy. Because eel has a reputation for being expensive, I can't eat it often. But Jangsuchon is a Gadi spot where you can eat Pungcheon eel, great for stamina and a healthy meal, at a good price.

And this is the self bar. It's clean and neatly kept. The owner (a woman) was very kind, and that kind of thing puts you in a good mood too.

The self bar had a variety of side dishes, including Cheongyang chili peppers, garlic, perilla leaves, and pickled Vietnamese chili peppers.

The charcoal fire is strong, so the eel cooks quickly. Looking at it now, it almost reminds me of mackerel.

Once it's cooked just right, the staff cut it neatly into bite-size pieces. The eel that looked like that is now laid out in tidy rows.

Does a good-value eel restaurant mean lower quality?

Just because it's a good-value eel restaurant in Gasan Digital Complex doesn't mean the eel at Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo is lower quality. You can tell right away from the moist fat and the thick cuts.

The pieces are big, so a few bites and you'll probably be full fast. It's more than good enough for a Gasan Digital Complex team dinner. There are also plenty of lunch dishes like eel soup, loach soup, and clam kalguksu, so it works as a Gadi lunch spot too.

Almost done cooking. Just thinking about eating the moist, rich eel already puts me in a good mood. We ordered soju and beer and waited.

I also grabbed a little wasabi from the self bar.

Before I knew it, the eel had turned crispy and golden. I put the garlic on late.

Now the real meal begins. Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo is my pick for Gasan Digital Complex, for lunch and for team dinners. The eel tastes amazing. The staff grilled it so carefully that the grease is cooked right out and the crispy texture is still there.

Today too, we wrapped up with a modest 2 bottles of soju and 1 bottle of beer.

Jangsuchon Pungcheon Jangeo is more than good enough for a team dinner in Gasan Digital Complex. It's a good-value Gadi lunch spot at ₩59,000 per kg. With its spacious, comfortable space, I recommend it in Gadi for a meal with your parents, a get-together with friends, or a dinner with coworkers.
