Ramen restaurant in Misa, Hanam: two set meals with mom at Menji
In short
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant on Misagangbyeonbuk-ro 30beonan-gil in Misa, Hanam. On a third visit in one week, the writer and her mom shared two set meals at 16,500 won each: handmade pork loin tonkatsu with a mini ttaengcho (hot green chili) ramen, and original tori paitan ramen with a mini yakitori rice bowl. Thoughtful touches at every table, including hair ties, chili oil, pepper and small sharing plates, also stood out. When one bowl of ramen isn't quite enough, the set meals at Menji Hanam Misa Branch let you add tonkatsu or a rice bowl.

Why we went back to Menji Hanam Misa Branch after just one week
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant in Misa, Hanam, and this is already my third visit. I came last week with a friend and had the yakitori bowl, and it was so good. So this time I came back with my mom.
I've actually featured Menji on my blog before, but I like it enough to come back after only a week. This time I ordered the set meals, which let you enjoy ramen together with tonkatsu or a yakitori bowl. So, here we go with my third Menji visit in Misa, Hanam.

Menji Hanam Misa Branch: location, hours and parking
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is at 36 Misagangbyeonbuk-ro 30beonan-gil, Hanam, Gyeonggi (1st floor), open Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 20:30. Break time is 15:00–17:00 and last order is at 20:00.
It's about a 20-minute walk or a 7-minute drive from Misa Station. Buses 87 and 81 get you there in about 15 minutes. Parking is reportedly available at the nearby Hyerim Church.
I've been here before, so it feels familiar. I liked it last time, so I came with high expectations again. A third visit already! It seems to have become one of my regular Misa, Hanam favorites without my even noticing.

Inside Menji Hanam Misa Branch and current promotions

When I visited, Menji was running an event: one chicken skewer with an alcohol order, and an extra mini rice or noodles with a student ID. If you're a student, bring your ID! The event may change depending on the restaurant, so check before you go.

The interior is cozy and comfortable overall, with the vibe you'd expect from a Japanese ramen shop. I especially liked the open kitchen, where you can watch the food being cooked. With the kitchen open, the whole place feels livelier.

Tabletop kiosk ordering and what's provided at each table
You order on a kiosk at each table. No need to go to a counter; you can browse the menu at your seat and order at your own pace. The menu is varied, so deciding takes a while, and being able to do it comfortably from your seat was nice.
What I personally liked was the variety of items set out on every table. Hair ties, chili oil (rayu), pepper and small plates were all ready. The hair ties felt especially thoughtful! The chili oil and pepper are there for adding to your ramen to taste, and the small plates made it easy to share with my mom.
It may seem minor, but little touches like these make a meal feel more comfortable. Even on my third visit, I noticed these details this time, haha.

Which Menji set meals did we order, and how much were they?
My mom and I each ordered a different set, and both were ₩16,500. Menji serves Japanese ramen as well as tonkatsu, yakitori bowls and more, and I liked that the sets let you enjoy ramen together with something else.
- My order: handmade pork loin tonkatsu + mini ramen set, ₩16,500 (mini ramen: spicy chili ramen)
- Mom's order: handmade ramen + mini yakitori bowl set, ₩16,500 (ramen: original tori paitan ramen)
I wanted tonkatsu as my main with some ramen on the side, so I chose the tonkatsu set. Mom wanted ramen as her main with a yakitori bowl alongside. I remembered how much I enjoyed the yakitori bowl last week, so I wanted to recommend it to her.
Pork loin tonkatsu + mini ttaengcho ramen set (16,500 won)

I ordered Menji's handmade pork loin tonkatsu with a mini spicy ramen. I usually love ramen, but that day I wanted tonkatsu even more, so I went for the set. I liked being able to have both ramen and tonkatsu.
For the mini ramen I chose the spicy chili ramen (tangchoh ramen). It seems right for anyone who likes a bit of heat. I figured fried food like tonkatsu would go well with spicy ramen, so that's why I picked it. If you can't decide on just one dish, a set like this is a good option.

The tonkatsu comes with salt, wasabi and a special sauce, so it never got heavy and I could finish it all. My favorite was the wasabi, haha.

Is Menji's mini ttaengcho ramen very spicy?
It wasn't as spicy as I expected, so it was just right alongside the tonkatsu. Unless you really can't handle spice, most people should manage it without trouble.
Tori paitan ramen + mini yakitori rice bowl set (16,500 won)
My mom ordered the set with Menji's handmade ramen and a mini yakitori bowl (grilled chicken skewer rice bowl).

She chose the original tori paitan ramen. Tori paitan is a Japanese ramen made with a rich broth of slowly simmered chicken. Unlike tonkotsu ramen, which uses pork bones, tori paitan uses chicken broth. With the mini yakitori bowl on top, the set lets you enjoy both ramen and a rice bowl.

I had the yakitori bowl when I visited last week, and I really enjoyed it. Menji is a ramen shop, but I'd love for you to try the yakitori bowl at least once. I recommend it if ramen alone feels like not enough, or if you want a rice bowl too.
The 'how to enjoy your ramen' guide at every table
Every table also has instructions on how to enjoy Menji's ramen and handmade tonkatsu. As a ramen specialist, it was impressive that they explain how to enjoy the ramen even more. Since I ordered tonkatsu this time, my eyes went to the tonkatsu tips too.
With little guides like this, first-time visitors can enjoy the menu in more ways. Menji has not only ramen but also handmade pork loin tonkatsu, yakitori bowls and more, so it's fun to pick what suits you.

Verdict on our third visit to Menji Hanam Misa Branch
What I liked about Menji's sets is that you can add tonkatsu or a rice bowl to your ramen and taste several dishes at once. This time my mom and I ordered different sets: I had the handmade pork loin tonkatsu with mini spicy ramen, and mom had the original tori paitan ramen with a mini yakitori bowl.
Menji's yakitori bowl is as good as its ramen, so it's a place where trying different dishes is fun. I came last week and again after just a week, so clearly I've been visiting a lot lately, haha. If you're looking for a good Japanese ramen restaurant in Misa, Hanam, or want ramen with tonkatsu or a rice bowl, I recommend Menji's set meals.
Note: this post is a visit review written after the restaurant provided the meal.
