Gangnam Station kiosk-order Korean restaurant for raw fish fans: Moa
In short
Moa Gangnam is a fusion Korean restaurant on an alley a 6-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. Two diners ordered three dishes at the kiosk — gondre cream sujebi (hand-torn noodle soup), spicy flounder buckwheat noodles and abalone mushroom butter pot rice — and split them, with the creamy soup, the spicy raw-fish noodles and the buttery pot rice balancing one another. For a date where you want to try several dishes, sharing at Moa Gangnam is the answer.

Today I was craving fusion Korean food, so I went to Moa Gangnam, a Korean restaurant near Gangnam Station that's also a popular Gangnam date spot.
Where is Moa Gangnam? A 6-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 11
Moa Gangnam is a 6-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 11 — head up the alley and you'll find it! The address is 31 Teheran-ro 5-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, ground floor of the Geumseong Building.

You can either go up the stairs or take the sloped path around. The outside had a clean but warm feel to it, and honestly just from the exterior I could see why it's recommended as a date spot.
Inside Moa Gangnam: interior and seating
Inside Moa Gangnam feels even warmer than the outside! They can seat all kinds of group sizes, from tables for two up to tables for six.

The tables come in different shapes too, which made the space even prettier. There's good spacing between tables, so it's great for chatting 👍🏻
Moa Gangnam's menu and how the kiosk ordering works
At Moa Gangnam you order via kiosk! I spotted all sorts of fusion Korean dishes on the menu — abalone galbi-bibim, perilla oil salted seafood pasta, doenjang bulgogi arancini, ggwari dakgangjeong (crispy soy-glazed chicken), fern cream meatballs, and more.

There were so many tasty-looking dishes that I found myself deep in thought about what to order!

The default side dishes are jalapeño and pickled radish! They went so well with the food that I kept reaching for them :-)
Gondre cream sujebi, the best dish at Moa Gangnam
There was no way I could skip the gondre cream sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) ... I ordered it without even thinking twice, and I'd highly recommend it!!! It's a Korean-style cream sujebi combining nutty gondre (mountain herb) with a rich cream sauce, and it's totally a hidden gem.

It's topped with shrimp and red chili — isn't it pretty? The portion was bigger than expected too, and since it's such a rare dish to find, I found myself marveling with every single bite!

I'd never had gondre, cream, and sujebi combined before, so I was curious how it would taste — and it worked incredibly well! The gondre flavor isn't overpowering, so even people who don't love the herb could probably still enjoy it. The chewy sujebi and gondre cream are a perfect match !! ♥

It's creamy but never heavy, so I just kept picking up my chopsticks for more. If you love cream pasta, I'd recommend this without hesitation! There was a reason it's the best-seller :D
Spicy flounder buckwheat noodles: mul-hoe with buckwheat noodles
The second dish was the spicy flounder buckwheat noodles — noodles topped with flounder sashimi and a spicy-tangy sauce. We debated between this and the vongole kalguksu, but since the two of us are total sashimi lovers, we went with this one — and it was such a good call, hehe.

On top there's thickly sliced flounder along with a variety of vegetables. It's like mul-hoe (cold raw fish soup) with buckwheat noodles thrown in?! ✨

After the creamy sujebi, taking a big bite of the spicy buckwheat noodles gave everything a totally refreshing reset. The dish itself is also served cold, so it was perfect for a hot day, and the portion was again more generous than expected.
Abalone mushroom butter pot rice, down to the crispy rice at the bottom
The last dish was the abalone mushroom butter pot rice :) It's a pot rice made with abalone and mushrooms. Butter and abalone together — there's no way that's not delicious. The look of it alone already had me sold ...!!

The seasoning wasn't salty at all — just right. If anything, the butter gave it a slightly sweet note. The mushrooms had a great aroma too, and the chewy combo of abalone and mushroom worked really well.

There's even crispy rice at the bottom of the pot... and it includes the abalone innards, but there's no fishy taste or smell at all — it's incredibly savory, and I kept reaching for more. Getting so full is basically a bonus with this dish !!!
The verdict: three dishes shared between two at Moa Gangnam
We ordered a variety of dishes and shared them, which was even better because we got to taste several things. If you're torn between too many menu options, ordering a few and sharing like we did is a great approach :)

The combination of these three dishes was so good! I'm curious about the other menu items too, so I'm planning to come back and try more of them next time haha.
