Separate seating for 8+ and a 2kg set at a Gangnam Station BBQ
In short
Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork BBQ restaurant a 6-7 minute walk from Gangnam Station in Seoul. A wedding-invitation gathering of more than 8 people sat in a separated seating area and ordered the 2kg boss-treat set (kkodeulsal, pork belly, pork skin and oddol-ppyeo, or cartilage) plus a pork tomahawk, with staff grilling everything so the table could keep talking. The six-item banchan spread and the corkage-free policy won the group over, and the only drawback at Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip is first-come, first-served parking.

I got a small discount but this is a genuinely honest review — the food was really that good!
Why we picked Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip for a Gangnam Station group dinner
One of the biggest headaches while planning a wedding is picking the venue for the invitation gathering. You want to treat everyone well, but going too expensive is stressful too 😂 I searched for days straight. Korean BBQ, hot pot, shabu-shabu, spaghetti places, all of it...
Our earlier invitation meetups were at two Western restaurants that were honestly just okay, nothing I'd particularly recommend. But everyone said I picked such a delicious spot this time — even the friend whose family runs a BBQ restaurant said the meat was great, so I was really satisfied ٩꒰⍢ ꒱۶⁼³₌₃
I visited almost a week ago, and ever since then I keep craving charcoal-grilled pork. All that searching paid off!!
Getting there: 6-7 minutes on foot, first-come parking
Location matters a lot for these gatherings!! People come from all over the city and we'd be drinking, so it needed to be easy to reach by public transit — that's why we settled on Gangnam.
Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip
It was about a 6-7 minute walk from Gangnam Station, and the weather was cool enough to make it pleasant. Ironically, the friend who drove said the streets were so crowded it was hard to get through .. ^^
Parking info 🚗 Come to the front of the building's parking lot and call, and they'll open the gate for you — but it's first-come, first-served so a spot isn't guaranteed. If it's full, there's a paid lot nearby at ₩4,000 an hour. Parking's a bit of a letdown, but hey, it's Gangnam ..haha
From outside it looked like just an ordinary BBQ place you'd see near any office, but inside the interior was clean and had real atmosphere ☺️

There was even a terrace seating area, perfect for this kind of weather~

I was so busy grabbing seats when we arrived that I didn't get many interior shots.. Since we were 8+ people, they gave us a separated area.

Six banchan sides, including pollack roe and salted oysters
First the basic side dishes get set out — honestly this is part of why I picked this place lol. Most BBQ spots just give you kimchi and bean sprouts, but here we got those two plus acorn jelly salad, lettuce-cucumber salad, salted pollack roe, and salted oysters lol. You could eat a full meal on the banchan alone.

The thoughtful friends who gifted flowers — best 👍

Everyone said it was their first time getting a chocolate wedding invitation and loved how pretty it was ˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡

What's in the 2kg boss-treat set for a party of 8
I screenshotted the menu from Naver.

For a group like mine, having 2kg and 1kg value-for-money set menus was such a plus. The names are pretty funny too lol.
- 2kg boss-treat set
- kkodeulsal (chewy pork muscle) x2 servings
- pork belly x1 serving
- pork skin x1 serving
- oddol-ppyeo (pork cartilage) x1 serving
That's what we ordered. Everyone eats a lot, so in hindsight we should've ordered an extra 1kg set lol.

Thick, fresh pork belly and pre-seared pork skin came out first, and then the oddol-ppyeo came out already grilled — wait, what?!
I once tried oddol-ppyeo somewhere else, was disappointed, and swore off it — but this was surprisingly delicious 👍👍

Pork tomahawk and crispy pork skin
Next came the pork tomahawk, which looked amazing, but I was too busy chatting to get a photo of it.. Instead here's the video of them cutting it for us lol. The ratio of fat to meat was a work of art 🥩 One of the people in our group has a family BBQ business, and even they said I picked a genuinely great spot.
The pork skin had no off smell and was grilled soft inside but crispy outside, so it disappeared fast lol.

Staff grill every cut, and corkage is free
The great thing here is the staff grill everything for you, so you can just relax and talk. We also ordered zucchini stew, naengmyeon (cold noodles), and bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles), and everyone left completely full lol.

If I have another invitation meetup, I won't even think twice — I'm coming back here!!
The staff were kind too, and it's corkage-free! The one downside is that parking is first-come, first-served, so there's a decent chance you won't get a spot — but that's Gangnam for you, right..? haha
