Hanam Misa brunch with apple cider and paccheri pasta: The Pizzeria

In short

The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant with a European-style terrace on Misagangbyeon-buk-ro 30beon-gil in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Over a fall brunch with her husband, the writer ordered the sweet apple dancing cider, truffle mushroom cream pasta with paccheri short pasta and the autumn-only fig prosciutto pizza, and used the mini self-bar stocked with dill pickles and jalapeños. Between the setting and the drink lineup, she strongly recommends The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa for a date or a brunch out.

The sky was so blue and the weather so gorgeous that I really wanted a fancy European-style brunch with my husband for the first time in a while! While happily agonizing over where to go, we ended up at 'The Pizzeria Market,' a hot spot in Hanam Misa.

The moment we arrived, the open, European-style outdoor terrace seating caught my eye. It felt so exotic, like we'd traveled to an outdoor restaurant on some European street — my heart was already fluttering before we even walked in.

The mini self-bar: dill pickles and jalapeños

We sat down, ordered easily via table order, and then went to look around the restaurant.

The mini self-bar wasn't stocked with plain pickles — it had pickles packed with refreshing 'dill' herb and jalapeños, and that little detail won me over all over again.

1. Sweet apple dancing cider 🍏

Tangy apple flavor and that fizzy pop of carbonation — exactly the taste I remember from the US

I personally love apple cider, but not many restaurants carry it, oddly enough. This place, though, had a solid lineup — apple dancing cider, local Hanam craft beer, wine, and more!

A bottle and glass of sweet apple dancing cider

Taste details: pouring a glass and taking a sip, the bright, sweet-tart apple juiciness hits your tongue first, followed by a refreshing, sharp fizz. The balance of sweet and sour was excellent and paired wonderfully with the pizza and cream pasta. It brought back memories of drinking this exact flavor back in the US.

2. Truffle mushroom cream pasta with paccheri short pasta 🍝

Chewy paccheri noodles packed with the rich umami of truffle and mushroom

You can choose between linguine and paccheri short pasta for your noodle; I went with paccheri since it holds onto sauce so well.

Taste details: the smooth, savory mushroom cream sauce soaked deep into the thick, chewy paccheri, so every bite was full of that earthy mushroom flavor and the luxurious aroma of truffle. It was creamy and umami-rich without being greasy at all, and since it's short pasta, we had fun scooping up sauce and noodles together with a spoon.

3. Autumn-only fig prosciutto pizza 🍕

An aesthetic of sweet and salty — sweet figs, salty prosciutto, and gorgonzola cheese

A whole autumn-only fig prosciutto pizza

As a certified fig lover, this was the new fall-only menu I was most looking forward to — the fig prosciutto pizza!

Wood-fired pizza topped with fresh figs and prosciutto

A perfect layering of sweet, salty, and savory: the sweetness of moist, soft fresh figs paired with salty prosciutto on top made for a legendary sweet-and-salty combo.

Pizza slice with gorgonzola, pecans, and arugula

The finishing touches: the funky, deep flavor of gorgonzola cheese, crunchy sugar-coated pecans with their sweet nuttiness, and fresh arugula to give it a slightly bitter finish! All these varied textures and flavors came together to create a special taste that made me go 'wow' with every bite. Figs as a pizza topping turned out to be a surprisingly amazing combination.

Is The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa worth a brunch date?

After finishing our meal and stepping outside, the sight of people chatting and enjoying their food on the outdoor terrace under the warm sunlight looked so lovely. My husband and I made a promise that next time, when the fall sunshine is nice, we'll grab a terrace seat and try their tempting lunch menu, the 'pizza boat.'
