Until a few years ago, I was someone who got a perm regularly, about once every six months! Before I knew it, my hair was seriously damaged..🥺 After that I didn't dare get another perm, so I just got cuts to let my damaged hair rest!

You get a bright, open, spacious and tidy interior!

When I walked in, the person at the desk greeted me kindly ^.^!!

There's a locker area where you can leave your things, so I could store my bag and so on! The space is divided by curtains, and inside there are cotton pads, cotton swabs, tissues and more so you can tidy up before leaving. I loved that thoughtfulness haha

New customer chart and consultation

When I sat down on the consultation bench, I was first served a pretty iced welcome tea 🍵 Then I filled out a new customer chart! It asks about your last hair treatment, how often you usually get your hair done, how skilled you are at styling it yourself, and so on~

After I finished, my stylist, Senior Vice Director Yuni, read through it really carefully and even asked follow-up questions for a thorough consultation. The last question has a space to write anything you want to tell the designer in advance! You can note things like what time you need to leave if you're on a tight schedule, or whether you'd like minimal conversation so you can relax during the treatment haha I especially liked and trusted this system, which checks what's needed ahead of time so customers don't have to think of and bring up everything themselves!

After the consultation, I sat down and was asked what I'd like to drink, so I asked for an iced Americano, and it came with a cute message and drawing…🥺🤍 I felt like I was being treated like a VIP.

Before: my hair and the treatment decision

This is my before look! My hair has a lot of layers, so it flew around messily when styling, and lately it had gotten especially dry and frizzy and needed taming!

💇‍♀️ We decided to tidy up the whole head, cut the length a bit shorter, then do the Re-born magic setting perm in a C-curl! During the cut, she carefully asked about the length I wanted and the areas I wanted to fix, and took the time to talk it all through.

Re-born perm pretreatment: empty out, then fill in

💆‍♀️ After the cut and before the treatment started, my hair was washed clean at the shampoo station. The shampoo washes away impurities built up on the hair surface, and the ampoule in the photo draws out impurities that have seeped deep inside the hair. I was told nutrients absorb better once you empty it from the inside, so my trust went up from the very first step! ✨

After the internal impurities were cleanly removed, we moved on to a care step that packs in protein! She applied Uptex cream, which supplies moisture and protein intensively, handling each strand with care. ☝️ Reducing damage, filling the hair with nutrients and bringing out its texture like this is the core of the Re-born perm at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch!

With impurities emptied out and protein filled in, my hair already felt bouncy and springy😌

While my hair was getting its protein, I topped up my body with sugar haha The snacks here are tasty too 😋

From perm solution to heat perm and neutralizing

Next was the key step of a setting perm: applying the perm solution! She mixed an ampoule into the solution too, and I could feel the care put into minimizing damage at every step haha

During the heat perm that sets the C-curl, she kept checking that it wasn't too hot, and she carefully placed non-woven cloth too, so I waited comfortably on my phone😌

After the heat treatment, she straightened my hair carefully with a flat iron and finished with neutralizing!

And after a perm, you can't shampoo for 48 hours, right? 🌸 Thoughtfully, she finished by applying an oil essence said to have really long-lasting fragrance, and a subtle, lovely scent stayed with me all day, which made me happy.
