Mountain-view Vietnamese restaurant in Boryeong: Tteomeungon Garden
In short
Tteomeungon Garden (떰응온가든) is a newly opened Vietnamese restaurant on the 3rd floor of a building on Myeongcheon-ro 3-gil in Boryeong, Chungnam. On a day of pouring monsoon rain, the writer and a friend sat at a mountain-view window seat and ate spring rolls, butter cheese shrimp, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory crepe) and pho tai lan (rice noodle soup), though the bun cha was sold out. Tteomeungon Garden is worth recommending in Boryeong for local-style Vietnamese flavors and atmosphere, or as a venue for group gatherings.

More Vietnam than Vietnam: Tteomeungon Garden

My friend and I had to stop by Boryeong for a bit, and suddenly I was craving authentic Vietnamese food, you know? I heard a newly opened place was nearby, so I went to Tteomeungon Garden (떰응온가든) with high hopes. I also captured a short clip of the restaurant!

Entrance and interior of Tteomeungon Garden
Tteomeungon Garden is on the 3rd floor of a big building on Myeongcheon-ro 3-gil in Boryeong, so it's easy to find. From the moment I walked in, the interior was so pretty I wondered if I was in Vietnam. Maybe because it's new, it felt clean and spacious overall, which I liked.

Are there group and family seats?
I saw several group tables, and there was also a quiet area inside where families can eat together. It's a perfect Boryeong restaurant for gatherings.

Mountain-view window seats
The window seats at Tteomeungon Garden seemed popular thanks to the wide-open view. We wanted to eat while looking at the mountains, so we sat by the window.

What we ordered at Tteomeungon Garden
We ordered 2 spring rolls, butter cheese shrimp, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake) and pho tai lan (rice noodle soup). Sadly, bun cha was sold out, so we picked other dishes.

It was the monsoon season and rained heavily that day, but the cloudy view outside the window had its own charm.

While waiting for our food, my friend and I took photos all over the place because the interior was so pretty, making memories. I filmed the interior in a video too.
How are the banh xeo, butter cheese shrimp and spring rolls?
Our order is here~

The banh xeo at Tteomeungon Garden is a Vietnamese-style pancake that you wrap with pork, shrimp, bean sprouts and various vegetables, and it felt like eating something really healthy. Even when I ate a lot it didn't sit heavy, and I loved that clean taste.

I'd never tried butter cheese shrimp, so I ordered it out of curiosity, and it was so good my friend scraped up every bit of the sauce. The spring rolls are steamed with pork and various vegetables and then rolled up, and they also felt full of healthy goodness.

Does the pho tai lan taste like Vietnam?
The pho tai lan at Tteomeungon Garden had exactly that soft, fluffy taste I remember from Vietnam. It was packed with all kinds of vegetables, more Vietnam than Vietnam, and the meat was tender. The broth was the real deal. I had it with the kimchi served alongside, which was fermented just right, and all the kimchi side dishes were tasty.

The best part is wrapping it however you like!! Delicious food plus a wide-open view, such a happy time.

I added sauce to the noodles too, and the spring rolls were a flavor I'd never had before. You wrap steamed pork, various vegetables and shrimp in the roll, and the peanut sauce was unusual but not off-putting, with a healthy taste I really enjoyed.

Is it good for group dinners and family gatherings in Boryeong?
Around dinner time, more than five groups came in at Tteomeungon Garden. Being new, it was very clean overall. The space is wide enough for company dinners or family gatherings, so even a big party can eat comfortably.
Overall verdict
Tteomeungon Garden even gives you the fun of looking around the interior as a bonus. I heard the food is cooked by Vietnamese locals, and the quality was really good. If you're looking for a different kind of restaurant in Boryeong or want Vietnamese food, I recommend this Boryeong pho spot, Tteomeungon Garden.
You can try a range of Vietnamese dishes like bun cha, pho and banh xeo, and it's a perfect place for family dinners or group gatherings. I was really satisfied because you get both the taste and the atmosphere of Vietnam!
