Dropped by Fluffy Bake Shop after a while! At first glance from the road I thought the sign was shaped like a shell, but it's actually modeled after a madeleine haha

If you're looking for a good bakery near Gongdeok Station for baked goods and salt bread, keep Fluffy Bake Shop in mind. It's a small space, but it's packed full of desserts made carefully with AOP-grade Lescure butter.

As soon as you walk in, there's a small area to buy drinks and desserts and eat them right there

It was hot out so there were some people stopping by in person for takeout, but it seemed like even more delivery riders were coming through haha — it's a bake shop-meets-café where you can enjoy dessert and drinks together

The display case at Fluffy Bake Shop lines up madeleines and financiers by flavor. Swipe through the detail shots below :-) Everything looked so good I was fidgeting over what to pick.

I couldn't confirm it that day, but a thick-and-chewy egg tart also shows up on the Naver menu

The plain madeleine is shaped like a smiley face, so it seemed good for a gift too — had to snap a photo (but I didn't end up picking it...)

I picked salt bread, Earl Grey madeleine, canelé, egg tart, dark chocolate financier, plain financier, and pistachio financier. That much for just over ₩20,000!! Bread and baked goods prices these days are wild, so this felt like great value.

There's a cute little corner with figurines (the owner seems to like Crayon Shin-chan haha), and Fluffy Bake Shop is apparently a good-store participant that donates through a food bank service to Mapo Food Market Branch 2 to help neighbors in need

How were the financiers and canelé

Fluffy Bake Shop's financiers confirm it's a real baked-goods spot h. The butter flavor isn't overpowering, and the texture is crisp outside, moist inside! Even people who find butter flavor a bit much should be fine with these :-)

The chocolate financier with a chocolate stick added has dark chocolate mixed in, so the flavor is even richer! If you have a favorite flavor of financier here, you can order it with confidence

Canelé with coffee! I usually love canelé and always order it if it's available, and Fluffy Bake Shop's canelé is the real deal! It was the tastiest thing in this whole haul haha — properly rum-scented, crisp outside and chewy inside!

Salt bread, frozen and rebaked at home

I froze the Fluffy Bake Shop salt bread and warmed it up at home later.

The salt bread tunnel! Checking it out... maybe because it got lightly rebaked, the outside turned out super crispy — if I'd eaten it the day I bought it, I bet the crisp-outside, moist-inside texture would've been even better

I'd recommend Fluffy Bake Shop in Gongdeok as a great spot for baked goods and bread — it's also in a good location for a quick stop-and-go. Free 1-hour parking is available at the SK Leaders View Complex 2 basement parking lot!
