Gangnam dakgalbi spot for five with squid-chive pancake: Dakgalbijeon
In short
Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is a dakgalbi (stir-fried marinated chicken) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobil in Seocho, Seoul, about 305m from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 9. Five of us shared the gamssachidak set for 5 with a perilla-potato pancake, a squid-chive pancake and udon noodles, and the staff cooked everything at the table so the group could keep talking while it sizzled. With one hour of free parking in the building's basement lot, Dakgalbijeon is an easy pick for a group meal in Gangnam.

Hi everyone, this is Moa :) I was looking for somewhere in Gangnam to eat a hearty meal with a group, so I went to Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch near Sinnonhyeon Station. There are so many good restaurants between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, but when you're actually showing up with several people, choosing a menu and thinking about the price gets complicated. This time five of us visited together and enjoyed a variety of dishes centered around dakgalbi (stir-fried marinated chicken), generously.
What we ordered was the gamssachidak set for 5. On top of that we also added a perilla-potato pancake, a squid-chive pancake, and udon noodles. Instead of just eating dakgalbi, adding the pancakes and noodles quickly filled up the table. If you're visiting with a group, I think this is a great way to order a variety of dishes to share.

Where is Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch and how do you get there?
Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch is about 305m from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 9, on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobil at 54 Seocho-daero 73-gil. It's also easy to get to from Gangnam Station, so it's fairly accessible for anyone looking for restaurants near Gangnam Station too.
If you're coming from Gangnam Station Exit 10, walk straight for about 391m, then turn right at Musinsa Store. After that, turn right at Seocho Sekkosi and you'll find the restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobil. Look for the Meitan sign on the building — that should help if it's your first visit.
If you're using Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 9, it's a bit closer. Walk straight about 77m from Exit 9, turn left into the alley by Banana Presso, keep going straight, and you'll reach Gangnam Diobil a little past the SK Telecom Gangnam Star agency. If it's your first time, using Naver Map for directions is also a good idea.
How the 1-hour free parking works
There's also good news for anyone driving in the middle of Gangnam: 1 hour of free parking is available. If you park in the basement lot at Gangnam Diobil (54 Seocho-daero 73-gil) and mention it when you pay after your meal, you can get 1 hour free. After that, it's ₩1,000 per 10 minutes.

Parking fees can be a real burden when eating out in Gangnam, so having 1 hour free parking is definitely an advantage. It's especially convenient for families or groups arriving by car.
Is the gamssachidak set for 5 enough for five people?
The gamssachidak set for 5 we ordered let us enjoy dakgalbi in various ways. They say they use chicken thigh meat that's freshly trimmed every day. Thanks to the naturally soft, juicy texture of chicken thigh, it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

The dakgalbi sauce is apparently a bit different from typical dakgalbi too. They say they use a special aged sauce made without gochujang (red chili paste), which is probably why it tastes clean and deep rather than heavy or overly spicy.
When dakgalbi sauce is too spicy or intense, tastes can differ among people eating together, but this place has a relatively mild flavor that's easy to enjoy, which made it good for a group visit.
Staff cook the dakgalbi at your table
What was especially convenient was that the staff cooked it for us directly. Cooking dakgalbi just right actually takes some skill, so having staff handle it meant we could just relax and chat while waiting for the food. Not having to keep flipping and checking the food felt like a real plus when gathered with a group.

Two pancakes: perilla-potato and squid-chive
The perilla-potato pancake we ordered alongside the dakgalbi was also delicious. The crispy fried potato pancake with the fragrant aroma of perilla leaf gave it a bit of a different feel from a regular potato pancake.
It was fun putting the dakgalbi on top of the perilla-potato pancake and eating them together. The sauce from the dakgalbi, the savory potato pancake, and the perilla aroma blended together better than expected. Rather than just eating dakgalbi on its own, adding the pancake made the meal feel even more filling.
We also ordered another pancake, the squid-chive pancake. With squid and chives inside, it had a different flavor from the perilla-potato pancake. Since there were five of us, ordering two different pancakes to share worked out well.

Adding udon noodles to the dakgalbi
And of course, udon noodles are essential when eating dakgalbi, so we added those too. Eating the noodles with the dakgalbi sauce lets the sauce soak into the noodles for yet another flavor. After eating some of the meat and vegetables, adding the noodles boosted our satisfaction with the meal even more.
With the gamssachidak set for 5 plus the perilla-potato pancake, squid-chive pancake, and udon noodles, it was quite a generous amount for five people to eat. If you're looking for somewhere in the middle of Gangnam for a group meal and thinking about the menu and price, I think it's a solid, good-value pick for anyone looking for restaurants near Gangnam Station.
The room at Dakgalbijeon and how it suits group gatherings
The restaurant is fairly spacious and comfortable, so it seemed good for friend gatherings, family gatherings, or company dinners with several people. There are also seats by the floor-to-ceiling windows where you can enjoy the meal while looking out at Gangnam's city scenery.

The restaurant is open daily from 11am to 10pm. Since it operates from lunch through dinner, it's easy to visit whenever suits your schedule. Overall, the five of us visited together and ordered a wide variety of dishes — the gamssachidak set for 5, perilla-potato pancake, squid-chive pancake, and udon noodles — and being able to enjoy pancakes and noodles alongside the dakgalbi made the meal even more filling.
