Pork soup restaurant at Busan Station with roomy solo seats: Yeongdong
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch is a dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup) and milmyeon (wheat cold noodle) restaurant right outside Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan. The suyuk baekban (boiled pork set) came with big, tender slices of pork and no gamey smell, and the dwaeji gukbap filled its earthen pot with meat in a rich yet clean broth. Newly opened, clean and spacious, with roomy seats for solo diners, Yeongdong Milmyeon is an easy meal for travelers with luggage and anyone eating alone.

Whether you're starting or ending a Busan trip, the first question is always "what should I eat near Busan Station?" Busan has pork soup restaurants everywhere, but I think the area in front of Busan Station has the most.
Pork soup (dwaeji gukbap) is a must-eat when you come to Busan, so this time I went to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, right in front of Busan Station!

How close is it to Busan Station?
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is really right there as soon as you step out of Busan Station. For travelers, that location is the most convenient thing about it.
Hauling big luggage a long way at the start of a trip is surprisingly tiring, right? But here you can see the restaurant the moment you exit the station, so moving with bags was really easy. The area in front of Busan Station has lots of cars and people, so that matters even more.
It's great for walking in right after arriving by KTX (high-speed train), and it's a perfect stop for a hearty last meal before heading home.

We ordered the restaurant's signature dishes: suyuk baekban (boiled pork with rice set) and pork soup.

Atmosphere and solo seats
Maybe because it hasn't been open long, the Busan Station branch was really clean, spacious and pleasant. It wasn't like the old gukbap places you picture, a bit cramped, crowded, nowhere to put your bags... with the marks of age all over.
The tables are spaced generously so it never felt stuffy, and the ventilation was good, so we ate in a tidy atmosphere.

What stood out most was the wide, well-prepared solo seating! Lots of people travel to Busan alone these days, and many have to eat alone on business trips, right? You can sit in a roomy, comfortable seat without feeling self-conscious, so I thought it was "the best space for solo diners."

Suyuk baekban: how big and how good is the meat?
Big, tender slices make the suyuk baekban
When you order the suyuk baekban at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, you get steaming hot suyuk (boiled pork) with a separate serving of clean pork soup broth. The size of the meat surprised me first! It comes out in really big slices, and the chew is excellent.
Not only big, there was no gamey smell at all, and the meat was so tender and moist it felt like it melted in my mouth. I put a little rice into the hot pork soup broth, then ate a slice of suyuk with kimchi and mumallaengi (dried radish strips), and it was just so good~!!

Pork soup broth and fillings
An earthen pot full of meat: hearty pork soup
The pork soup we ordered alongside didn't disappoint either. I scooped up the pot with my spoon and it was really packed with meat!
The broth was deep and rich too, and the moment I took a sip I said "so good!" without thinking. With plenty of meat, I stayed full and satisfied to the end, and the broth wasn't greasy but clean, so I finished the bowl happily.
Overall review and summary
- Access: Right in front of Busan Station, the best route when you're carrying luggage!
- Restaurant environment: Very clean, spacious and pleasant. Wide solo seats available!
- Taste: Satisfied with both the big, moist suyuk and the pork soup with generous fillings and rich broth!
If you're looking near Busan Station for a clean, pleasant space, a comfortable spot for eating alone, and above all tasty, generous pork soup and suyuk, definitely give Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap a visit! I think it'll be a great meal to start or finish your Busan trip on a good note.
