Yeoksam café bean card tasting: Deep Black vs Deep Red, Roastery Stan

Today I'm introducing Roastery Stan, a Yeoksam café with a really delicious strawberry fruit sando ❤️

There are a lot of offices nearby, so I heard it's popular with office workers!

The clean exterior made an impression on me.

Right when you walk in, you see the open kitchen.

There were about 4-5 tables, giving it a cozy vibe.

How do you order the sando and other desserts at Roastery Stan?

The menu board at Roastery Stan only showed coffee and tea, so when I asked about sandos, I was told desserts need to be looked up directly on the Coupang Eats app. I ended up downloading the app right there and checking..! If you're short on time or want to eat right away, you should look it up before visiting. For reference, when I checked, there were three kinds: strawberry, Shine Muscat, and kiwi.

Four coffee beans to choose from and what they cost extra

There was a wide variety of coffee beans. You have to choose one when ordering a coffee, and just a heads-up that choosing Deep Yellow or decaf adds ₩500!

The spaces that easily get messy if not cleaned up right away were kept spotless, which was satisfying from a hygiene standpoint.

Each bean had a description written out, so it was easy to understand. Deep Black is said to be a heavy yet nutty bean with chocolate and almond notes.

Deep Red is a versatile bean with moderate acidity and nuttiness, with butter and cocoa notes.

Deep Sleep is the decaf bean. I thought the name was cleverly cute!

Deep Yellow beans are recommended for those who like fruity aromas.

Deep Black vs Deep Red: tasting the two beans with their bean cards

We chose the Black and Red beans.

They gave us each bean's card along with the coffees, so it was easy to tell the drinks apart and easy to understand the flavors. This was a moment where the owner's thoughtfulness really stood out!

Drinking them alternately, the characteristics of each bean really came through clearly. The Black had a nutty barley-tea-like aroma along with a heavy, rich flavor, which was exactly my style. The Red had a lighter acidity than the Black, and just as written on the card, it was the kind of taste good for everyday drinking.

What the strawberry sando tasted like

The sando we ordered together was made fresh on the spot, and it was satisfying because it was packed full of strawberries.

And above all, the dense cream that seemed like a perfect mix of milk and butter was so delicious that I kept thinking about it. If I visit again, I'd want to order it once more.

Why Gangnam office workers keep coming back to Roastery Stan

I could see why the office workers around here like it. There's a wide range of beans to choose from yourself, it opens early so you can stop by on your commute, and the sando is hearty enough to work as a light meal, so I'd recommend it haha.

Fruit sandos are trendy these days, and even when I wanted to try one, it was surprisingly hard to find a place that sells them ㅠ So it was a nice experience to finally get to try the strawberry sando this time. It's not super varied yet, but it seems like the fruit types probably change with the seasons.

The cream is rich and the bread is soft, so if you visit Roastery Stan near Yeoksam Station, I recommend trying a sando haha. If you work nearby, it'd also be good to take one out in the morning! The store is a bit compact, but there are outdoor seats too, so keep that in mind!
