Hodu Kkakki Brothers (호두까끼형제) is already super famous among walnut pie lovers, a dessert café in Dogok-dong known for handmade walnut pies made with organic ingredients. I'd been curious about it for ages, and I finally tried it ><

After a tiring day, I was looking for a dessert to have with wine, and I bought a walnut pie set where I could try several kinds. Done!

Where is Hodu Kkakki Brothers? Hours and parking near Yangjae Station

Hodu Kkakki Brothers is on the 1st floor at 10 Nambusunhwan-ro 351-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (954-10 Dogok-dong), 111 m from Exit 4 of Yangjae Station. It's open daily 11:00–21:00, with a break from 14:30 to 15:30.

• Come out of Yangjae Station Exit 4 and turn into the first alley on the left. Pass the Gopchangwang Gimhyeongje restaurant, and the shop is on the right, a 1st-floor store with "walnut pie" written on it.
• There's no parking lot of its own. The closest is the underground parking of the SK Herb Primo building.

The signature walnut pie is packed with walnuts, really not stingy at all. Unlike ordinary walnut pies it isn't overly sweet, with a gentle sweetness that makes it easy to eat :>

Original pecan pie

The original pecan pie has that deep, rich nuttiness only pecans have, and the texture was really good too.. 🫶🏻 The combo of sweet filling and nuts is pretty decent-!

Hazelnut cacao pie

The hazelnut cacao pie is a total recommend for chocolate lovers-!!!!! You get a strong cacao flavor, but it isn't heavy or dry, and it goes well with the nuts. When you're craving something sweet, I think it'd be even better with coffee..🤎

Macadamia cheese pie

The macadamia cheese pie was a combo I'd never tried, and seriously, it's so good.. macadamia nuttiness + cheese flavor = love 💞 It plays the accent role in the set perfectly.

How is the pie crust?

The pie crust at Hodu Kkakki Brothers is thin and keeps its crispness. Nut pies usually focus on the filling, so the base is often just ordinary, but thanks to the thin crust mentioned on the info card, the natural flavor of the nuts comes through better, I think *_*.. And the crunch doesn't go soggy, it lasts to the very end-!

The info card also has descriptions of the menu, like the signature walnut pie, pecan pie, hazelnut cacao pie and macadamia cheese pie. It tastes even better when you know what you're eating, right? Next time I want to try the milk cream walnut pie too
