Is Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon good for groups?
There were more tables than I expected, so the place felt comfortable for eating with a bunch of people. I think it works well for friends getting meat together, and it seems popular as a Sinchon company dinner spot too!

A Sinchon Korean BBQ restaurant with a spinning side-dish tray
At Jjaengbanjip8292, the side dishes are set around a round tray in the middle of the table, and the tray spins. That tray was the first thing that amazed me when we sat down.
Usually at a Korean BBQ place, side dishes are set out one by one in front of you, right? Here they sit in a circle on a tray that goes round and round, haha! If you want a side dish that's not in front of you, you just turn the tray a little, which turned out to be more convenient than I thought. At first I was like, "it spins?" but trying it was surprisingly fun haha.

Side dishes and the pajeori (scallion salad) we refilled
The tray came with kimchi, pickled radish (ssam-mu), stir-fried fish cake, gungchae (stem lettuce) and salad-type dishes, plus lettuce, garlic and pajeori (seasoned scallion salad) for the meat. I liked that you can mix it up: wrap it in a lettuce leaf, dip it in salt, or eat it with the scallion salad! And the scallion salad here is the real kicker, so we got a refill haha.
Which pork cuts come in the 600g pork tray?
The 600g pork tray at Jjaengbanjip8292 is a ₩49,000 assortment of pork belly, pork neck, hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and a special cut.
600g pork tray (pork belly + neck + hangjeongsal + special cut)

The color alone is insane, right? It's a set that lets you try several pork cuts at once, perfect if you want to sample a bit of everything. Pork belly, neck, jowl and even kkodeulsal (chewy cut) all came on one tray, and it looked so generous~!

How the pork belly and pork neck tasted
We started grilling the pork belly and neck from the tray, and just watching the meat turn golden on the grill looked delicious... ugh... I ate today and already want it again ;; haha. Cooked just right, the pork belly had a rich, savory juiciness, and the neck was leaner than the belly but still had a nice meaty bite!

How were the kimchi stew and rice at Jjaengbanjip8292?
The kimchi stew (₩5,000) was neither too sour nor too sweet and packed with meat. We ordered kimchi stew and rice, and can you believe the rice portion? The owner packed the bowl to the brim. The stew is honestly just my favorite style: not too sour, not sweet!!!
It was a stew loaded with meat.

There was no gamey smell at all and the meat was so tender that I skipped the lettuce wraps and dipped it in meljeot (salted anchovy sauce). It melts in your mouth like beef T_T
Hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and kkodeulsal
I ate so frantically that the last hangjeongsal is the only photo I have haha. The jowl had that signature crunchy texture, and the kkodeulsal got nuttier the more I chewed, so alternating between cuts was fun. Eating several cuts instead of just one kept it from getting boring and we kept reaching for more! If you're looking for a Sinchon BBQ place to visit with several people, an assortment like this seems like a good idea.
Finishing the pork BBQ with seafood ramyeon
The seafood ramyeon (₩6,000) at Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon comes in a spicy broth with scallops, mussels and clams, which made it a great finish after the meat.

I was torn between cold noodles (naengmyeon) and seafood ramyeon, then went for the spicy seafood ramyeon~! The broth was hot and spicy with savory depth from the seafood, perfect for the end. I was pretty full from the meat, but one spoonful of broth and I could eat more again... It had scallops, mussels and clams. We wrapped up the night cleanly, ramyeon and all!
Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon: final verdict
Overall, I loved that Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon lets you enjoy several pork cuts at once, and above all the spinning side-dish tray was unique and memorable. The side dishes are varied and you can pick the cuts you like, so it seems especially convenient with a group. It's good for a casual meat meal with friends, and it looked like a fine choice for a Sinchon group dinner.
If you do what we did, meat, kimchi stew with rice, then seafood ramyeon at the end, you'll leave totally full! If you want a lot of different pork cuts in Sinchon, this Sinchon restaurant is worth a stop. Next time I'll come try the beef too 💙💙💙
