Let me introduce Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch (김씨치킨 암사시장점), a great new dakgangjeong spot in Amsa Market!

Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch is an Amsa Market dakgangjeong spot with seriously generous portions and lots of customers, so the chicken turnover was incredibly fast ❤️ It seemed to be a chain, too.

I buy dakgangjeong (sweet-and-spicy fried chicken bites) at Amsa Market often, so I was sooo happy a new shop opened ❤️ As soon as Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch opened, people were lining up and lining up...!!! Apparently, early on after opening, the line was so long they even had to manage it(?)—that kind of Amsa Market dakgangjeong hotspot, haha!!!

Here is the menu at Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch. They sell lots of cuts at good prices, including dakgangjeong, old-fashioned whole chicken, wings, sticks, drumsticks, and a whole bone-in fried chicken. Dakgangjeong also comes in several flavors: mild, medium spicy, and spicy. I ordered the large spicy dakgangjeong!

They have chicken gizzards and sauced chicken gizzards, plus old-fashioned whole chicken and sauced old-fashioned whole chicken, so it looks like everything is available either fried plain or sauced!

The drumsticks come in portions of 4, 6, 8, or 12, which is great—easy for one person to enjoy, but with plenty of options for families to share, too.

The wings and sticks are both such good value, and you can even do a half-and-half mix ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Everything looks delicious!!! They sell all these different cuts, including the best bits, separately!

I tried the drumsticks before, fried plain, and they were delicious. But the fun fact is that you can ask to have them sauced, too!!!

And the best thing about Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch!!!! Because there are so many customers, the chicken sells quickly and the turnover is so good that you can keep getting freshly fried chicken!!! 👍👍 Chicken that sits out on display because it is not selling gets cold and does not taste good, but here you can see chicken constantly coming out of the fryer.

I loooove freshly fried dakgangjeong like this...! Then they toss it in the sauce like this >.<!!! They also toss in a few rice cakes as a free extra!!! I do not love shops that give you mostly rice cakes, but this one had an overwhelmingly generous amount of chicken, which made it even better >.<!!

That sauce looks delicious even just looking at it... ❤️ Out of mild, medium spicy, and spicy, I ordered spicy, and they said it was really hot. But for someone who loves spicy food like me, it was perfectly sweet and spicy. I think medium spicy would be just right for most people.

That hand gesture, trying to add even one more piece ㅠ ❤️ The amount really was enormous. The dakgangjeong shop I went to before Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch would not even give one extra piece, which felt bad, haha. This kind of attitude makes me want to visit more!!! Seriously, this is the rising star among Amsa Market dakgangjeong spots!!!! >.<

Large spicy dakgangjeong for ₩17,000: portion and taste

Large spicy dakgangjeong, ₩17,000. The portion is seriously enormous. I think that is why there are so many people: there is lots of it, and it tastes good, too! Plus, they thoroughly toss freshly fried chicken in the sauce... the best!!

The coating was crisp, the inside was moist, and I loved that there was absolutely no chicken smell. It was delicious eaten warm right after I brought it home, and it was still delicious after it cooled down! There must be a reason it is so busy >.< I think it will establish itself as a top dakgangjeong spot in Amsa Market. I am definitely making this my regular place... ❤️
