Hana Shabu Shabu Junggye Main Branch for a Nowon family meal

I’d been wanting shabu-shabu for the first time in ages, so I went to Hana Shabu Shabu Junggye Branch, a Nowon restaurant close to my workplace. I loved the pleasant atmosphere and clean dining room. The food was delicious too, so I think it would be great for a Nowon group dinner or family meal!!!
I came from the Kunyung Omni Department Store side of Hagye Station, faced the main entrance, and went right. The exterior stands out, so you should find it quickly~
Seiro-mushi dinner menu and the basic setting

※ The simple menu is so pretty~ 🍃

Salad and sauces come as standard. There are three sauces: chili sauce, soy sauce & wasabi, and peanut sauce.
📃 Seiro-mushi dinner, brisket + sirloin, ₩29,000 for 2

Everything was neatly set out, and the Hana Shabu Shabu logo on the cutlery and wet wipes made it feel even more upscale ♧

Bean sprouts lined the bottom, with brisket and sirloin on top~ They looked fresh and beautifully colored at a glance~*** The owner slices them right away by machine once an order comes in~^^

Aren’t the vegetables presented so prettily? There’s such a variety, and the beef and fresh vegetables are a feast for the eyes first~ 🎵
How long do you wait for seiro-mushi?

Because seiro-mushi is steamed, it needs a little waiting time. About 20 minutes? If you’re short on time, I think you should just have shabu-shabu.
The hourglass runs for 10 minutes, so when the sand runs out, you need to turn it over once more~ I was chatting away and didn’t even realize 10 minutes had passed, haha.

Beef tataki flame show and the first bite
When the 20 minutes were nearly up, the owner made beef tataki for us~ Tataki is called tataki because it is quickly seared with a crackle 🔥
🔥 A flame show~ The owner quickly cooks it with a torch, rolls it up, and hands it to you to eat as is. But this flavor...!

A whole new world~ 🔥 The flame-kissed beef was so delicious, full of savory flavor, tender, and still bursting with juices!!! That must be why it’s tataki~ 👍

Even rolled up, it wasn’t dry or tough from being thick—it just melted away~ You can dip it in sauce, too. My companion chose sauce~ I savored mine plain~

How I enjoyed the steamed meat and vegetables
Can’t you feel the warmth just from the photo? There were all kinds of vegetables, including mushrooms, napa cabbage, zucchini, and bean sprouts, so I could eat a little of everything~^^

Rather than being submerged in water, the meat is steamed by the vapor in seiro-mushi, so its juices stay intact and you can taste the beef itself. I highly recommend having it seiro-mushi style!

A gentle flame keeps it warm, so you can enjoy it hot from start to finish. Eat the meat with bean sprouts and their crispness adds even more textural fun~◇

I love 🍄 mushrooms, so I liked that there were many varieties. The fish cake was tasty too, and it was nice to get plenty of vegetable refills?

Dipping the mushrooms in peanut sauce made them wonderfully nutty, and the crunchy 🍄 mushroom texture came together so deliciously!!!

🥓 The meat was tender with no off smell, and steaming it seiro-mushi style kept the juices intact, making it even nuttier and cleaner-tasting~

The meat was delicious dipped in sauce, but it was also delicious topped with vegetables, rolled up, and then dipped.
