In short

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant near Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The self-serve wrap-vegetable bar costs 2,000 won per person with unlimited refills, and the meat is cut to a chosen 1.5mm thickness: daepae jjolmoksal (thin pork shoulder), jjolsamgyeopsal (thin pork belly), flower pork belly and a 360-hour dry-aged pork shoulder, finished with kimchi-mari guksu (cold kimchi noodle soup). Watching staff slice each order in the open cutting room made Daepae Market feel worth trusting.

Today I want to introduce a really special BBQ restaurant I visited recently. Forget the idea that "meat is just meat, it's all the same" — Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch showed off a "premium frozen pork belly" experience that goes way beyond ordinary flavor.

Where is Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, and what are the hours?

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is close to Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station. The exterior is decorated cutely enough to spot at a glance, and with a name like "market" in it, it's not the kind of place you forget.

Business hours are as posted at the store, so check there.

Menu and thickness choice: pork sliced the moment you order

The menu at Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch was pretty varied overall — main dishes, stews, noodles, rice dishes and more. What really stood out was the performance of slicing the daepae (thin-sliced frozen meat) right after ordering. They've set up an open cutting room right next to the tables, which gave me a lot of confidence.

Because they bring out such premium ingredients, everything looked delicious!

We added the self-bar usage fee and drinks separately on the ordering screen. I liked that you can taste several cuts and choose the thickness yourself. Personally I prefer thin slices, so I went with 1.5mm.

The wrap-vegetable self-bar: 2,000 won per person, unlimited

Another point of pride at Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is the "unlimited wrap-vegetable self-bar." You get access just by adding 2,000 won per person. Lettuce and perilla leaves are the basics, of course, but there was also a variety of fresh wrap vegetables including minari (water dropwort), so you could enjoy the meal even more healthily and deliciously.

The crunchy texture and freshness came together nicely for the meal. Especially when you pair it with strong-scented vegetables, the meat's flavor really comes alive, giving you an even more varied taste experience.

Even up close, it looked so fresh... Dipping it generously in ssamjang (wrap sauce) with garlic and chili and taking a big wrap bite! Doesn't just imagining it make your mouth water?

Besides that, you could freely fill your plate with all sorts of side dishes, which felt relaxed and comfortable.

How does the 360-hour dry-aged daepae pork shoulder taste?

Finally, the food we ordered arrived! Daepae jjolmoksal, jjolsamgyeopsal, flower pork belly, and the 360-hour dry-aged daepae pork shoulder~ Now let's dig into just how good each one was, one by one.

First up is the "360-hour dry-aged daepae pork shoulder." 360 hours! That means it went through a dry-aging process for that long. With the moisture gone and the flavor compounds concentrated, its signature clean taste stayed intact while the richness was maximized.

Being able to eat it all as a full spread made the meal feel satisfying just to look at. The facilities and tableware were kept spotless too, so the whole meal felt pleasant.

Next up are the "daepae jjolmoksal" and "jjolsamgyeopsal." With "jjol" in the name, these dishes are known for their chewy texture. The more you chew, the more savory juices burst out, and the ratio of fat to lean meat was just right — not greasy but still tender.

Grilling bracken fern and bean sprouts in the fat that renders out is fantastic beyond words! Next up is the "flower pork belly." Take one bite and you can feel the thinly sliced pork belly practically melt in your mouth. Being so thin, it also cooks quickly the moment it hits the grill, which is a big plus.

The flavor on its own was so good that even just a light dip in salt was delicious. Definitely earns its reputation as a 24-hour Gangnam favorite and a Nonhyeon BBQ hotspot~

It's also great to order the sunshine rice on the side and eat it together, or pair it with grilled vegetables. The savory aroma of freshly cooked rice rounded out the meal even more satisfyingly.

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch offers flavor, quality, and service on a completely different level from typical places. I'd confidently say this is somewhere that nails taste, health, and enjoyment all at once!

Texture of the flash-frozen daepae meat

Maybe because of the flash-freezing process, the meat's texture and condition were top-tier. I understood right away why so many celebrities have flocked here.

Finishing the meal with kimchi-mari guksu

Lastly, the cool kimchi-malin guksu (cold kimchi noodle soup) blew away all the greasiness in one refreshing, clean go. It had the sweet-and-tangy flavor of well-fermented kimchi, chewy noodles, and a cold broth floating with ice.

The open cutting room and the mood inside Daepae Market

The biggest signature and most trust-inspiring point of Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is the "open-style daepae cutting room"! You get to watch with your own eyes as they trim and slice the meat right after ordering. From the stainless steel counters to the meat-cutting machines, everything was so clean it sparkled without a speck of dust.

Seeing how many broadcasters and celebrities have visited, it clearly looked very popular. It seemed like stars you'd often see on TV or media had already heard about it and become regulars. After eating there myself, I completely understood why so many celebrities raved about it.

From how carefully the store is managed, you could really feel the sincerity and pride behind the food, and it gave me the confidence that "ah, I can trust the food here!" Overall, it was a place that had hygiene, cleanliness, and comfort perfectly balanced, so I enjoyed the meal happily the whole time I was there.

Restaurant tables spaced generously apart

The tables were also spaced generously enough that it would work well for a family meal out, a group gathering, or a work dinner. There was no sense of stuffiness or stickiness at all, and the ventilation was working smoothly.
