Gangnam hair salon C-curl magic setting to the sideburns: Park Jun

I'm back with a review of a hair day that totally lifted my mood 💗💗 My hair is half-curly, so the frizz has always bugged me ㅠㅠ and after my last cut it felt kind of chopped off, so I'd been stuck on what to do with it. This time I got a magic setting C-curl perm to smooth the frizz and bring back bouncy curls at the bottom! haha Let me start the review of this thoroughly done treatment 🫶 My overall verdict is at the very bottom.

Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch is really close to Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6! It's within a 5-minute walk, so it was easy to get to, and it's on the 2nd floor of the building, so the salon was easy to find too.

Consultation with welcome tea, and the total price explained up front

Before the treatment, we started with a consultation over welcome tea. Sipping warm green tea to warm up and chatting at ease was nice~ When I explained the style I wanted in detail, they told me which treatment would suit it!!!

And they explained "in advance" what the total price would come to depending on the result, which made me trust them! hahaha At salons I always spend the whole treatment wondering how much it'll end up costing!

Ribbon Repair Perm (magic setting + C-curl) for half-curly hair

The treatment I got this time at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch was the Ribbon Repair Perm (magic setting + C-curl). With half-curly hair, the top is frizzy and I wanted to keep the curl at the bottom. So we decided on a magic setting perm: straighten the top calmly with magic straightening, and C-curls at the bottom!

Ta-da! This is my hair with nothing done. You can see how frizzy the top is even in the photo, right? ㅠㅠㅠ And just so you know, this is already after using a flat iron... hahaha;;; Even with a flat iron it looks like this 🥹 Styling it stressed me out every time, so this time I really wanted it to work!

What are the steps of the Ribbon Repair Perm?

I was told the Ribbon Repair Perm at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch goes through five steps.

• Diagnostic shampoo matched to hair condition to remove buildup from scalp and hair
• Protein ampoule applied to match changes in hair texture
• A step to balance pH when the perm solution is applied
• Hair care with a Shiseido special care mask
• Wheat pairing cream applied to replenish protein nutrition

So the products needed are used at various points during the treatment to keep the hair from getting damaged. I was always so worried that a perm would damage my hair even more ㅠㅠ but with the hair cared for step by step like this, I could relax a bit more.

A drink during the treatment: Idol Honey Green Tea

There's a drink menu during the treatment too! The name caught my eye, so I ordered the Idol Honey Green Tea haha It's literally green tea with honey. But Idol Honey Green Tea... is it something idols drink a lot? Or did it show up in some Reel? The odd name stuck with me lol (but not my taste ❌)

Next they apply the neutralizer and put me through a good round of heat treatment. Then they rinse my hair clean~

The Shiseido special care mask they mentioned in the steps earlier was applied carefully through my hair too. Being a repair specialist, you could really feel how much they care about the hair even while the treatment is going on!

C-curl rolls, careful all the way to the sideburns

The best part of the magic setting at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch was the rolling. This is the stage where the rolls go in and you wait, and the designer was extremely careful with every single roll. She didn't just roll quickly and be done; she adjusted even the angles so the curls wouldn't come out uneven. (I was touched 🥹🥹🥹🥹) Details like this seem to decide the result, so I really loved it haha

And one more thing that surprised me! She rolled the C-curl perm right down to the sideburns too. Can you see it in the photo? lol Nice, tight, round rolls haha Often the sideburn area doesn't get this much attention. Seeing her miss nothing, even the small parts, I could feel how meticulous stylist Yeonjae is. I was really happy that she cared about the fine details and not just the whole head!

The result of the magic setting C-curl after 3.5 hours

The Ribbon Repair Perm magic setting took a full three and a half hours to finish!!! 🎉 After a long journey, my hair is done~~! Kyaaaa The top is calmly straightened with a magic iron and the bottom is rolled to bring out the C-curl: the Ribbon Repair Perm magic setting perm is complete!

Before, the top was frizzy and everything felt unkempt. Afterwards the shape of my hair looked much neater!!! What I liked most was the curl. Maybe because repair nutrition products were used along the way, my hair still looked bouncy and healthy after the perm! I loved the curls and was happy with the hair quality too lol This Ribbon Repair Perm was a real success 💗

By the way, the person who did my hair was stylist Yeonjae! It was a really satisfying experience for me. I especially remember how carefully she handled small parts like the sideburns. Inside Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch there's a separate photo booth (Life4Cuts, a Korean four-frame photo booth) you can use for free. You open the door and there's the photo space, and it has a curtain, so you can take pictures in private.

After getting your hair done at a salon you're in a great mood and often go off to take Life4Cuts photos, right? (lol, is it just me?) But here the photo space is built right into the salon! Getting my hair done and leaving photos too, I love details like this 🫶 I took lots of photos, of course lol I felt good about the new hair and got pretty photos out of it! It's not just ending with pretty hair; it's like recording that day's mood too 💗

Overall verdict
