Gangnam ramen restaurant with weekend wait: Oreno Ramen Gangnam

In short

Oreno Ramen Gangnam is a ramen restaurant near Gangnam Station in Seoul. After returning for the first time in three months, I waited 20 minutes on a weekend evening for Kara Paitan and the renewed assorted tsukune. The spicy broth and thin noodles are still seriously memorable.

Introduction image for Oreno Ramen Gangnam

Back at this Gangnam Station ramen spot after three months

Oreno Ramen was so delicious when I visited three months ago that I kept thinking about it, and I finally went back 🍜🤍 Oreno Ramen was just as delicious as ever, and it’s also a great spot for solo dining near Gangnam Station :)

What was the weekend evening wait like?

I visited on a weekend evening, and there was a wait!! There isn’t a separate Catch Table waitlist system, so you need to line up directly in front of the restaurant. We got in after waiting about 20 minutes.

As you’d expect from a great ramen spot near Gangnam Station, there are just two ramen choices! But now you can get noodle and rice refills too... This is basically an unlimited-refill, great-value Gangnam Station ramen spot ✨✨

Inside, there are counter seats that are great for solo dining near Gangnam Station, plus tables for four. Since there are only tables for four rather than tables for two, turnover could be a little slow when lots of pairs are visiting ㅠㅠ

while pickled radish is set out on every table—and they even provide hair ties, how thoughtful :) Personally, I thought the radish went really well with the ramen.

Cola is something that naturally comes to mind while eating ramen, and it’s free if you write a review, so keep that in mind.

How can a soft-boiled egg be this perfect.. 🥹

Ramen with a soft-boiled egg

Oreno Ramen’s noodles are especially thin, which is totally my style. Personally, I like it better than Ichiran.

The broth is spicy and addictive, so I feel like it would be such a rice thief if you mixed rice into it—but the standard noodle portion is already pretty generous. At the next table, they really made the most of the unlimited-refill deal with extra noodles and extra rice, while we could barely finish the standard portion.

Sniffling from the spice as I finished every last drop! You have no idea how much I’d been craving this flavor ㅠㅠ

The renewed tsukune set

The tsukune took a while to come out, and the set was different from when I visited three months ago. It used to be one skewer for ₩3,000 served in the ramen, but after the renewal it changed to two skewers for ₩5,000, served separately from the ramen!

Renewed assorted tsukune set

It may seem mildly seasoned, and you might think, “What is this?” But once you take a bite, it’s a tender, moist tsukune full of juices.

Recommendation for moist assorted tsukune

If ramen alone feels a little lacking, I recommend the assorted tsukune. It’s seriously delicious... and filling... so good ㅠ
