Soyeori Bagel's Songpa Wirye main branch is at 72 Wiryebuk-ro 1-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and it is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed every Sunday. You can use the free parking lot next to the shop, and if you are only grabbing takeout, you can stop briefly in front.

On the way back from Starfield, I was craving a chewy bagel, so I came back to this Geoyeo-dong café, Soyeori Bagel's Songpa Wirye main branch. It is close to Exit 5 of Geoyeo Station, so it is easy to reach by public transport, and if you drive, you can park for free in the lot beside the building.

What time should you go to Soyeori Bagel before the bagels sell out?

At Soyeori Bagel's Wirye main branch, I could see the whole day's bagel lineup only around lunchtime. Last time, I went on a weekday around 3 p.m. and only two cheese jalapeño bagels were left, which was a letdown. Today I came around lunchtime and was lucky enough to see everything that had been prepared.

On the day I visited, there were plain, olive cheese, jujube, salted butter, apple crumble and whole wheat bagels. The lineup can change a little each day, and you can see today's bagels on their Instagram, so check ahead if there is one you really want.

The cream cheeses that go with the bagels came in a really wide range: cotton candy, plain, strawberry, garlic basil, jujube, blueberry, sun-dried tomato, honey granola and lemon dill. Pick the flavor that suits your bagel.

Mugwort pound cake tasting event

On the day I visited, a pound cake full of mugwort (ssuk, a fragrant Korean herb) had just launched, and they were running a sample tasting for a week. As someone with granny taste buds who loves mugwort, it was right up my alley.

The inside of Soyeori Bagel's Wirye main branch is cozy, so finding a seat is not easy on busy days. Maybe because the weather was so hot, I got a seat. Last time it was full and I was disappointed, but today I could enjoy brunch at a relaxed pace.

At Soyeori Bagel's Songpa Wirye main branch, I ordered an iced Earl Grey tea and tried the jujube bagel, olive cheese bagel and apple crumble bagel.

Sitting by the window feels healing. It feels like a small step away from the busy city, so I was very happy with the view too. If you want a relaxed brunch, head to Soyeori Bagel, the café in Songpa's Wirye area.

Is the signature jujube bagel good even if you don't like jujubes?

Soyeori Bagel's signature jujube bagel (₩4,500) has a subtle jujube flavor, so it suited even the writer, who doesn't like jujube. I worried the jujube taste might be strong, but the gently spreading sweetness of the jujube goes so well with the bagel.

Crunchy on the outside, chewy bagel texture inside. It's delicious on its own, but it also goes well with cream cheese. And of course it's even better warm. I hear it's even tastier as a brie apple sandwich, so next time I'll switch to a sandwich and enjoy brunch.

Olive cheese bagel review

Soyeori Bagel's olive cheese bagel (₩4,000) adds olives to a plain, mild bagel, and the aroma and flavor of the olives are great. When you eat in, they warm the bagel for you, so it feels like eating one fresh out of the oven. For a bagel spot in Wirye, it's Soyeori Bagel's Songpa Wirye main branch, no question.

With the hot weather, the cold Earl Grey tea went so well with the bagels too. For anyone on a bakery tour, Soyeori Bagel's Songpa Wirye main branch is a Songpa café worth visiting at least once. I love its healing atmosphere, so it's a bakery I visit regularly.
