Today I'm introducing Eojil In (어질 인), the independent café I've visited more than any other in Wangsimni 😊

Where is Eojil In and what are its hours?

Eojil In is at 18 Majo-ro 9-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 1st and 2nd floors, and it's open every day from 09:00 to 22:30. Last order is at 22:00.

Come out of Wangsimni Station Exit 12 or 13, or Exit 6, and you'll spot it right away!

Eojil In desserts: recommendations from a regular who's tried them all

The moment you walk into Eojil In, you see all these pretty, delicious-looking desserts ❤️ I've been here so many times that I think I've tried every kind!! I honestly recommend them all 💕 Below I'll show you in detail what I picked today!

Why I chose an iced Americano over the signature Café Milk Bowl

Eojil In's signature is the Café Milk Bowl, and they say it's made with the ice cream used at Paul Bassett and Baekmidang! If you like vanilla ice cream, I think you'll absolutely love it.

But that day I mainly wanted cake, so I went with an iced Americano, haha. The beans at Eojil In are so good that an iced Americano is more than tasty enough.

Is there enough seating at Eojil In? First-floor sofa seats and the second floor

There are cozy sofa seats on the first floor too~ and we were lucky enough to get them that day! Eojil In is honestly full every single day.

The second floor was already full~ Look at all the people!! I think Eojil In is the representative independent café of Wangsimni. Even with so many people, the mood is so cozy and snug that it never felt chaotic to me.

How do the green tea Basque cheesecake and Matilda chocolate cake taste?

Ta-da!❤️ Our order has arrived. Now you see why I ordered an iced Americano, right? It was to eat these delicious cakes.

I think I've had Eojil In's Basque cheesecake about 5 times. At first there was only the plain one, but then a green tea version came out. I'd already tried green tea before this day, but I missed it so much that I ordered it again 👍

And my beloved Matilda cake! Eojil In's chocolate cake is similar to the chocolate cake at Artisée 🍪🍰🍫 It's super dense and rich, haha.

A bite of the green tea Basque cheesecake~ Sometimes places try to make Basque cheesecake soft and it ends up completely melted inside, you know? But Eojil In's is moist yet dense, and the balance is so good, haha! Please try it once!

The iced Americano also uses exactly the kind of beans I like!! Somewhere between nutty and acidic ❤️ Together with the cake, the pairing is a 900g-level great (a total win)~

Where is the restroom at Eojil In?

The restroom at Eojil In is on the stairs outside the building, and the passcode is cutely written on a tissue, haha. The restroom was also super clean, so I took a photo of it, lol.

Why does Eojil In have so many regulars?

Most cafés close at 22:00, but Eojil In stays open until 22:30, an extra 30 minutes, so I think customers who want to stay late love it. You know that 30 minutes makes a surprisingly big difference, right?!

Eojil In also sells a wide variety of desserts such as financiers, madeleines and cakes, so the choices are broad, which I think is why it has so many regulars! They sell whole cakes too, so stop by when you come to Wangsimni~ I recommend it for people going to cafés alone as well!
