In short
Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is a Chinese restaurant on Jungdong-ro in Sinjung-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, open daily from 08:00 until 02:30 the next morning. The writer ordered jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce), tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) with a choice of spice level, then helped themselves to unlimited rice at the self-bar and to plum tea, omija tea, iced tea and coffee afterwards. As the weather gets chilly, spicy broth is the first thing I crave🍜 That day I suddenly wanted something hot and spicy, so I looked around and ended up at Jjambbong Jijon Sinjung-dong branch, a Chinese restaurant in Bucheon.

Inside Jjambbong Jijon: eating alone or with a group
If you're looking for a place to eat around Sinjung-dong, this one's probably familiar — it's a Bucheon restaurant known for its wide variety of jjamppong, so you can pick according to your taste. The interior is clean overall and the tables have plenty of space, so it's comfortable to eat in👍

It's not intimidating to visit alone, and it also looks great for group meals, gatherings, and family dinners with several people. I ordered jjajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and jjamppong, and I liked that you could adjust the spice level.

How was the jjajangmyeon?
Jjajangmyeon noodles and black bean sauce up close
The jjajangmyeon had a rich black bean sauce that blended well with the noodles — savory and a little sweet! The sauce was generous so the noodles mixed in nice and moist, and the portion was hearty enough to fill you up with just one bowl.

The noodles had a springy, chewy texture! They weren't overcooked and had just the right bounce, so they were delicious to eat, and the toppings were cut into big chunks too, giving good bite. There was plenty of it, so it didn't feel like just sauce — every bite had ingredients mixed in, making it feel even more filling👍

Tangsuyuk: the batter and the sweet potato inside
The tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was crispy outside and moist inside, so the texture was great. The batter wasn't too thick and the meat pieces were big, so you could feel the juices when you bit in, and dipping it in the sweet and tangy sauce paired well with both the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong. If you visit with several people, this is a great side dish to order and share!

There was sweet potato mixed in too, and its sweetness paired nicely with the tangy tangsuyuk sauce, so it was fun to pick out a piece here and there haha

Choosing your jjamppong spice level at Jjambbong Jijon
The jjamppong at Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch lets you adjust the spice level step by step, so it works for people who can't handle spicy food all the way up to people who want it hot and intense. This Bucheon jjamppong hits you with a spicy aroma the moment it arrives — just looking at it makes your mouth water lol. The broth was rich yet clean-tasting, and eating the noodles with the spicy broth warmed me up from the inside.

The noodles had a springy, chewy texture, and the seafood and vegetables were cut into big pieces too, so it wasn't just about the noodles — picking out the ingredients was fun too. At first I mostly ate the noodles and toppings, but the broth was so good I kept spooning it up in between. If you love a really spicy jjamppong, you could bump the spice level up a bit, and if you're sensitive to spice, ordering the mild level lets you enjoy it without worry!

Unlimited rice at the self-bar, stirred into the leftover sauce
There's a self-bar too, so you can freely grab extra side dishes, small plates, or bowls as needed. I especially liked that rice is unlimited — mixing leftover jjajangmyeon sauce or jjamppong broth with rice makes it truly filling! Mixing rice into the black bean sauce especially was a surprisingly great treat👏 Being able to help yourself to as much as you need meant I could eat comfortably without worrying about it.

Dessert drinks: plum tea, omija tea, iced tea and coffee
After the meal, dessert is ready too. There's plum tea, omija tea (five-flavor berry tea), iced tea, and coffee, so you can choose according to your taste. Cool plum tea or omija tea is great for cleansing your palate after the spicy jjamppong, and iced tea or a clean cup of coffee is a nice way to finish too.
Overall the menu was varied and the portions generous, so I left having had a really filling meal! I'd love to come back the next time I'm craving spicy jjamppong. If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant near Sinjung-dong, give this place a try👍
