Why is Dooblock Isu such a famous spot for wedding invitation get-togethers near Isu Station?

Dooblock Isu is a Western restaurant famous around Isu Station, especially as a place for cheongmo (청모, get-togethers where people hand out wedding invitations). A new group of friends had formed, so with this new combination (?) we met at Dooblock Isu.

Fitting for a famous Isu Station wedding-invitation spot, parking was easy! It was a holiday evening and there was still space out front. It's hard to find parking this convenient around Banpo, Naebang and Isu.

Dooblock Isu atmosphere and seating

The second I walked into Dooblock Isu, my eyes went wide at the blue and orange vibe. What, was this place made for me? Fitting for an Isu Station get-together spot, the tables are spaced generously and there are several group tables. Best of all, sound doesn't echo... for anyone planning a wedding-invitation get-together near Isu Station, I don't think there's a better place.

We weren't there for a wedding-invitation meetup.. but it's still a gathering, right! My friends who love knitting kept sending photos of their knitting to me, someone who doesn't know the first thing about it, so I just gathered them together. Get close and go knit together, you two... haha

The plates weren't cheap ones either, they were the Syracuse series I love!! Love it. And where do you buy this lamp? Give me info, please... It's so cute.

Ordering was easy by tablet. You can even call staff from the tablet, which is perfect for introverts..

Dooblock Isu menu: what was good

I took photos of the Dooblock Isu menu... and it's enormous!! A recommendation up front: the pizzas were really good!

The inside is dim but also bright(?) at the same time, so it looked good for a blind date too. (In fact a few tables seemed to be blind dates. Super interesting, all of us had our ears perked up haha)

There's a separate wine menu like this, so it seemed good for a casual drink too!

They've placed tasteful decorative props without overdoing it, so just being in the space felt good. Oh! And the high ceilings were so nice. Low ceilings can easily feel stuffy, and now I get why so many people recommend this as an Isu Station wedding-invitation spot.

Dooblock Isu honey cod: the taste I had in Spain

The first dish of our order to arrive was the honey cod!!! I first tried honey cod on a trip to Spain and totally fell for it. Fish can be eaten like this?

Boneless, creamy white cod comes with aioli sauce, tomato sauce and honey, so it's creamy, sweet and a little fresh, which wipes out any fishy smell, and it goes re!ally! well with the soft texture of the cod. I wondered whether it would be as good as in Spain, and what do you know, it was exactly that taste... I'm bringing my mom here.

How is the dough on Dooblock Isu's margherita wood-fired pizza?

This is the margherita wood-fired pizza. I've recently had my eyes opened to pizza, and I've gotten even pickier about wood-fired pizza, but Dooblock Isu's dough passes!!!

There's plenty of cheese, the dough isn't tough at all and stays fluffy to the very end, so we finished it all hehe. Personally, when you don't know which pizza to order, go margherita.

Dooblock Isu octopus ink risotto: is it spicy?

This is the octopus ink risotto my friend chose without hesitation! Polvo (뽈뽀, Spanish for octopus)? I thought it would be a dish with just octopus, but it comes with ink risotto! How fascinating... There's also a creamy sauce on top, similar in taste to the sauce on the honey cod but a bit more mayo-like?

Can the three of us finish all this? → Always a needless worry haha

I expected the usual ink taste from Dooblock Isu's octopus ink risotto, but it was quite spicy and surprised me!!! The octopus was so tender, maybe sous vide, that even I, with weak teeth, enjoyed it a lot. Above all, as a spicy-food fanatic, I loved that it was spicy.

Why I recommend Dooblock Isu as a meeting spot near Isu Station

I liked the tasteful interior all around Dooblock Isu, and fitting for an Isu Station wedding-invitation spot, it has rooms and group tables. I don't know if I'll ever hold one myself, but if I do...?^^ I imagined it haha

The newly gathered knitting friends took a proper mirror selfie and then went off to knit,,, haha. They all said, "Unni, if you do a wedding-invitation get-together near Isu Station, we can come here~" ... A wedding get-together? When? haha Anyway, it feels far off for me, but if anyone is worrying about a restaurant for an Isu Station wedding-invitation get-together, I highly recommend Dooblock Isu!
